Mugged by hotel "security!"
About 2 hours after arriving at this hotel my son aged 31, was attacked, beaten and 170 euros were taken from him by the so called hotel security! The party were there for the Cheltenham Racing and have gone for years and have never had a problem. They are not a party who have gone out there to get drunk and cause trouble. Betting has always taken place around the pool area of the hotel and on this day there was probably between 4 & 5 hundred people in the pool area all watching the racing and betting. My son was going to bet and was dragged by 3 men into the back foyer of the hotel and beaten by the men who told him he was betting illegally. They took his money and took him to the main reception where one of the 3 told them to check him out. The receptionist was taken aback by this but the men demanded his room number so that they could take my son to get his belongings whereupon they then beat him in the elevator! Please avoid this hotel and if you saw this incident occur please let your travel agent know what you saw!
Poor from hotel on Benidorm lock down
Very poor from hotel when Benidorm was shut down they made no attempt to help customers out. Especially when you hear first hand that hotels were offering upgrades to full board for half price but we still had to pay 12 euro's each time we went into the restaurant for very mediocre food and others getting refunds and bar bills wiped. We've stayed here as a group for the last 3years and will definatly will not be returning.
We stayed here Sun-Friday and thought the hotel was ok. We are a couple just turned 60 so although the location was great for the strip and bars we may have been better off slightly further away. The hotel itself is clean enough and the food was adequate - bearing in mind that you get what you pay for Would I visit again - probably not, since this area is populated mostly by large stag/hen parties, although it wasn’t too bad this early in the year (and maybe also since we were not here for the weekend)
Thousands of people congregate to watch the racing and hear ‘the Cheltenham roar’ at the first race of the meeting. But there’s no sound on the big screen (it’s so low it’s inaudible.) Spoiling everyone’s day - no one can hear the racing! What’s happening?!
This is a great hotel. I first used this hotel for 26 years and I have seen many changes over the years From a new entrance ( it used to be a large ramp going downtown the reseption desk which now is the entrance the white star music bar) gone ste the days of the bar by the side of the restaurant only play Spanish music which none of the English clients could under stand. The white Star was once a burger bar.The secret garden was added a few years ago And even this year they have made use of a wasted area and now there is a cocktail bar and night club it looks great. But just a bit noisey at night for me now I think may be I've got abit older now and need a good night's sleep . I have tried to add a picture but it's too big the before and after photos
