Hotel has great central location, close to everything. Our room was big, with a balcony on sunny side. We had great night sleep thanks to super comfy matrasses. Our room was cleaned every day, which is great when you are travelling with children.Accomodation staff and receptionists were always friendly and helpful. They pre-booked a taxi for us for our early flight, which was excellent and we were in airport on time.
Good location, nice staff, ok room
The location is the key here, the hotel is in the middle of the centre. We enjoyed a big room with big bathroom and a private balcony with nice views. The bathroom is clean, and the towels are provided. The room is very basic and old-fashioned and the curtains had mold all over them, otherwise ok for few nights. A lot of noise from the outside, because it was the weekend and also the annual carnival time, but that is not the hotels fault of course :) Free wifi, cheap but good coffee from the reception and shops and restaurants close. Nice staff! Ok stay, thanks. :)
Location has good and bad points but will return
The room while small had everything I needed for a business trip. Modern TV, good air con / heater, comfy bed and piping hot water for the shower. It’s a great location in many respects, close to bars and excellent restaurants and all other facilities you would need, the bad points about the location is it’s close to bars, restaurants and all the other facilities you would need. Yes you did just read that twice. Because of its location it can get a bit noisy at night especially the weekend, singing and shouting can be heard into the early hours and bars empty their bottles into the recycling and that makes a hell of a clatter. However you get use to it which is why I will return.
Oh sweet Jesus
If hostels are too up market for you, you will love your stay at the Hotel Remo. After thanking the gods the ancient lift was not your final destination, you will emerge into a tiny room filled with horrendously decorated beds that would fit well in a museum (if the museum was desperate and trying to fill space). The only thing worth paying for was the fire hose of a shower, that was marginally offset with sauna like capabilities (horrendously hot with no ventilation) and a generous helping of mould to keep your asthma company. However I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the air con - not only was it stained yellow with the smoke of a thousand fags, but the thing banged louder than a Hill Billy’s washing machine. Not only that but our attempts to keep the aircon running were thrice blighted by the cleaning lady who continuously returned to our room to ensure it was switched off and sweltering on our return. One star but you have to respect the strong effort that has been made to avoid a second.
Nice hotel basic but clean. Handy for local amenities and can get to most places easily. Quiet surroundings at nights with 24 hour reception. Lift while can hold 4 to 6 people not suitable if your claustrophobic. Good bars and restaurants close by
