One night in Angers
Driving back to the Uk from Spain we decided to stop in Angers as we had not been there before. We found 21 Foch online and liked the look of it. It appeals to our choice of hotel, small simply decorated but with nice arty touches. We also got a good deal, any size room, we chose XL and breakfast for Euro 85. We also added diner at Euro 29 each which was delivered to the room. Tomas who greeted us and arranged diner and breakfast was extremely helpfull. We had a walk arounf town following one of the marked out routes discovering the old quarter. then returned for a rest and diner after the long drive from Hondarribia. Diner was very nice, a main of chicken, potatoes and mushrooms, followed by cheese and a dessert. The next morning breakfast was very nice, cofee, tea, fruit, cream cheese yogurt, pastries and a quenelle shaped chocolate cake with melted chocolate interior. Parking, unloading and reloading the car had to happen on the side street so wavnt ideal and we park the car over night in a nearby underground car park just 3 minutes walk from the hotel and advertised on the hotel site. All in all a very confortable stay next time we will stay longer and see more of the lovely town of Angers.
Clean, quiet, and comfortable
My wife and I spent four nights at this hotel and enjoyed our experience. We booked an XL room but were upgraded to the suite upon arrival. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we heard virtually no noise outside of our room. The water pressure and temperature were constant, making for good showers. The room checked all the boxes, and we would certainly return if able to visit Angers again. We had breakfast two of the mornings (15 euros per person), and each time it consisted of small cups of fruit and yogurt, a French press of coffee (or tea if preferred), fresh-squeezed juice, a basket with bread and croissants, and a plate of ham and two kinds of cheeses. We would have preferred some variety in the offerings and thus, we chose to have our breakfast elsewhere the last two mornings.
Beautiful and Luxurious
My family and I were well taken care of! Our room was studio apartment style, with the bed upstairs from the living space. The room was very clean and well stocked for our stay. The attendant was incredibly nice and spoke French and English. Breakfast was a typical French petit-déjeuner with fresh squeezed juices and pastries.
First Class
This surely, is one of the best places to stay while in Angers. We had two great nights here in March and certainly, would stay again. Located just a couple of streets away from the centre of the old town, this 19th-century, boutique hotel building is decorated in white and grey tones. Guest rooms and suites are accessed by a lift. Our room had a wonderful view from a large, double glazed window overlooking the wide, boulevard with it's many shops and fantastic tramway. Rooms are bright and very tastefully decorated with spacious room around the essential furniture element. I loved the large TV which was set into a white, ornate picture type frame! Bathroom was roomy with a good shower and other essentials, plus partial, non steam glass! One bedside light was on the 'blink' but apart from that, no complaints. We were able to make ourselves a drink in a lounge area on the restaurant floor below, which was just great! Service is excellent. Thomas served us at the table for a fabulous breakfast in the contemporary, intimate restaurant. A truly, wonderful experience and stay.
Gorgeous Luxurious Boutique Hotel
We booked a room with a king bed in this small gorgeous boutique hotel - it has just 14 rooms. This has been our second stay here and we came back specifically for the hotel and the absolutely fabulous Michelin Star restaurant located on he first floor. Thomas is the consummate host who made sure that we were well looked after. Our room on the second floor had a large airy window facing onto the main boulevard, yet as the rooms are double glazed the noise is minimal. The entrance to the hotel is unassuming through a large gated door with security access. Thomas organised a reservation for us at Le Favre d’Anne - located in the hotel and the food was fantastic and I couldn’t recommend both the hotel and restaurant more highly. A word of caution, however a reservation is essential as it isn’t large and was fully booked on a Wednesday night.
