I have not been using IHG properties much in the last 2 years. I haven't stayed at a Candlewood in 4 years because they remind me of a hospital room. I booked this one and I love it. It is so up to date and so roomy. My son and I had plenty of room. It is so nice and it looks like a beach resort. The people at the front desk are awesome and the GM is the best. Highly recommend. Really close to Padre Island. Also the outside area was great. Grandson enjoyed the pool. I could see us coming back and using the grills and out door sink.

Due to work commitments and the Texas Ice Storm of 2021, I stayed at the Candlewoods Suites at Aransas Pass for two months. I was most fortunate! Through a pandemic, unprecedented ice storm and uncertainty, the professional, caring, client-oriented staff made me feel safe, valued and went above and beyond the call of duty to provide extra comfort in my suite and keeping food selections and amenities (gym, patio, lounges, etc.) as functional and available as possible. Sara, Shiv, Willy - everyone: *a thousand thank-yous!*. You made a huge difference to this northeasterner! So glad to have weathered such challenging times with you to provide safe, affable, affordable lodgings.

So adked for bottom floor got 2nd floor ok no big deal. The ac on the 2nd floor was hot so it smelled bad in the hall .. i turned it on and it keep getting turned off so you could smell the people across the hall smoking weed in their room... the 2nd day while i was getting ready i saw a crockroach run acroos the bathroom wall i killed it with a towel later that day i found one on the kitchen counter i was unable to kill it... the pool area was over ran by adults drinking smoking and making out in the water while my child was trying to swim we had to leave for their poor conduct

We were just down for 3 nights to meet some friends and fish. The location is great just a few miles maybe to the ferry and the island. We purchased a king and I'm not sure it was a full queen. Check in/out was a breeze. Pool and hot tub were okay. Bathroom was not real clean. Room was large. Free breakfast was pretty bad. Scrambled "Eggs" had standing water in the tray each morning. I'd stick to a waffle or try the toast. The processes sauage patties are worse than the eggs. Coffee was okay. The rooms had full kitchenettes but I can't imagine cooking in them on the electric range. A/C was average and like most will cycle off regardless of what you "think" you have set it at. The price is low so we didn't expect much to start with but I sure wouldn't pay anymore for it.
Ipad stolen by housekeeping, Management not helpful!!

We were here for two nights with my family. There were no safe boxes in the room so we had to leave some valuables out such as an ipad mini. We decided to hang the DO NOT DISTURB sign so as not to have any traffic in our room. We kept these valuables in a bag tucked by the side of the bed, out of sight. When we returned late one evening we realized our ipad was missing and the bag had been moved and rumaged through. We called the office and since management was not present we had to wait until the next morning to file a complaint. The next morning, the manager checked our keypad to see who had been in our room and what time. Sure enough, a maid used her key after we were gone for the day to enter our room despite the fact that the sign said do not disturb. It was still hanging there when we returned. We called the police and they took a report and even interviewed the maid who entered our room. She denied the charge of course and management never apologized. Only said that there was no evidence she took anything. Interestingly, he has security cameras but they are not installed! So he said there's no evidence that she actually entered our room. BEWARE of this hotel as there employees and their management obviously do not abide by policies or signage. We wanted our money refunded for the two nights and were told we would get both nights, but were only given one night. When we called about the other night being refunded we were told no. So management lied to us. This ruined our trip as we had to spend so much time with the police and staff. We hope that maid learned never to do this to people as she looked very scared and nervous when she saw the police come in. Our family who was staying in another room said they got a knock on their door when they had already put their sign out and were irritated when bothered. Again, the same maid. My cousin said she looked surprised when they opened the door. We believe she was checking to see who had left so as to check their rooms with no evidence she had been there cleaning. Also, the rooms were dated, and there were roaches in some areas. I would avoid this hotel!!
