Good, but there room for improvement

Now, I looked at the other reviews on here, and they said some pretty decent things. After I got back from a horrible hotel experience in Bentonville, I wanted a fresh start here. When I got there, I saw stains on the couch. I got ready to go to the pool, I went outside to see that you had to sign into the pool. I was disappointed, but it was mandatory. For dinner I went to A. W. Lin’s, and that was a solid 10/10. Took me a while to get to sleep since there was this blinking light that went on and off on the wall. I tested put the shower in the morning and there wasn’t a vent to clear out the steam. The complimentary products in the shower were amazing. I hope that the breakfast options will be more broad in the future since it wasn’t a very wide variety. I hope that the free internet will improve in the future since it barely worked although I had a strong connection and strong service. My room also came with a desk, closet, mini fridge, flat screen TV, and a coffee pot. Hopefully the housekeeping can improve because I was gone for about 4-5 hours one day and they hadn’t reached my room. The couch was a pull out and it wasn’t that comfortable. Lots of things to do in Little Rock though. It was worth eight hours of driving.

DO NOT BOOK if you want to be assured of a safe stay during the COVID pandemic. I checked in, walked into the room, and was horrified. There is a sticker sealing the door outside assuring you that the space has been cleaned... the room was absolutely filthy. Visible fingerprints all over the sink, mirror, lamps. When I washed my hands, the sink was fully clogged. Unpleasant smell in the room. Stained carpets. Visible dirt build up on window sills (as if they had never EVER been cleaned). I initially wiped all the surfaces down to see if I could actually convince myself to stay (I was in shock)- all wipes turned brown and gray after a quick and simple wipe down of surfaces. (The first thing I cleaned with a disinfectant wipe was the remote, which even that small item left gray brown debris on the wipe). I promptly checked out, as it was clear I could not rely on them to provide another room that would be clean (considering we checked into a room that was sealed to show it was “cleaned”). The room also has cloth surfaces EVERYWHERE. Very stained carpets, dingy dirty curtains, ripped and dirty upholstery on the couch. Cloth retains moisture, so if anyone had checked out before us that same day (and the staff clearly did not clean the room whatsoever), the room could potentially harbor contagious droplets. I have stayed in many diverse accommodations throughout the world, and can say with confidence that there is only one hotel I have stayed in that was filthier than this room. That hotel was in Mongolia- I found that the toilet did not work, and a maintenance man came up and tried to hand me a used garbage bag and said I would just have to put my arm in the bag and plunge my arm to the bottom of the tank that had dark water in it and “search” for a plug to pull. I let them know that wouldn’t be necessary. Before finding another room there, I gathered up my things and I discovered the bed had a gigantic blood stain about 2 feet in diameter. Did someone give birth there? Was there a murder? I will never know. What I do know is that this Holiday Inn was so filthy, it came in second to the Mongolian hotel, and not by a large margin.

I stay at a lot of holiday inns and this was one of my favorite. not only did I get a suite for 54.00 a night, I booked online, got the good rate and no drama with this stay, it was more than I expected and I checked out online from 100 miles away. I had to get an early start, (5am), so I left the keys, grabbed my stuff and I was on my way, got about 100 miles out and saw I could check out online and so I did, couldn't ask for a better stay. Brett checked me in and he was great!!...when I have to come back through Little Rock, I'll be here!!
What has happened to this hotel

This hotel is perhaps going down the drain, to the waitress telling me that the fryer is broke and cant cook anything. The cook not washing her hands, looking and smelling like she just came in off of the street, a server serving a lady alcohol who i know works there. I come to Little Rock often but i probably will not be coming back to this hotel until it becomes in better shape. I hate to see a good hotel be run down by pitiful employees.
holiday inn chain has deteriorted

We have stayed at this locaiton twice in the last 2 weeks. The first time the room smelled of BO but we were too tired to move rooms. We called to see if they had a spray to freshen the room but they did not, they did offer to move us to another room. The bathroom felt dirty, wall-paper stained and peeling away from the wall. The pillows were lumpy, the towels have a rough texture. Overall rating average.
The second stay the room smelled clean upon entering but again the bathroom felt dirty due to stained wall-paper and peeling from the wall and the bathroom door was also stained- it was frosted glass which also presented a problem if you turned the light on inside it shined through to the bed.
The poistive was that the staff was pleasant at check-in each time. The first time we were gifted a free breakfast due to the poor condition of the room. Staff gets an A+, rooms get a C.
