Bad deal all around

We booked in here after fires caused us to change our travel route over the July 4 weekend. Only room available was $350 per night with a 2-night minimum. We figured, OK we'll splurge and enjoy a nice hotel with great amenities and make a fun time of it.
Covid restrictions had fully ended in OR on June 30th. We checked in on July 3. Yet the hotel continued to run based on full restrictions, without explanation or apology. Cost cutting was clearly the goal.
NO housekeeping was available, only replenishing of supplies, if you asked.
The workout room was closed with a sign saying this was due to Covid, even though one employee said we could use it. Another employee thought it was still closed. This was moot, however, since the room contained overturned furniture that had been tossed in there ages ago and clearly the room had not been prepared for use - aired out, cleaned and the machines inspected- it was in no way ready for use.
Our hotel room was basic, nothing special. No "welcome" anything - not a mint, bottle of water, no literature as to things to do in town.
First view of our floor (third) was large pile of used laundry against a wall near our unit.
Hand sanitizer dispenser on our floor was never filled.
Tesla chargers were basically inaccessible:
A particular reason we booked was to use the advertised Tesla destination chargers. Turns out these are located on the lower level of the creepy garage, down a very narrow and heavily banked driveway. Scrapes all along the side walls convinced us not to try. We walked down to view the chargers to find 2 of the 4 slots taken with non Tesla vehicles. We guessed these were employee cars as they were parked next to what appeared to be the basement laundry facility. The garage was ill lit as well and did not appear a safe place to get in or out of or to leave our car. No security, either, and no elevator to the upper level or to the hotel.
No housekeeping was provided during our stay, theoretically due to Covid.
Breakfast, again theoretically due to Covid, was provided at the front desk each morning with a brown bag hand out. Contents were convenience store level packaged goods which were, frankly, an insult.
The bottom of the wastebasket in our room fell out, it was that tired from use. The TV in a cupboard was meant to be pulled out for use but the shelf would not stay extended properly.
Bottom line, this is a marginal property hiding behind Covid restrictions to cut corners at every opportunity; all the stingy protocols remained in place.
The rooms are large, and the location is good for walking to "downtown" Ashland, but that's it.

A bit dated, but perfectly clean and fine hotel. Impressively, they had a vegan /gluten-free complimentary bag breakfast option. Location is great - within easy walking distance to main street with a bunch of shops and food, as well as the very pleasant Lithia park.

The place has vintage charm that I enjoyed but it could be so much better. We didn’t sleep AT ALL and had to drive long distance the next day. There were young folks running up and down the halls and standing eating pizza in the halls at midnight and it went on for hours! We called the front desk to request assistance and they came and everyone scattered. As soon as they left they came out again and continued the party in the halls. Went down in the am to get grab n go breakfasts and they only had 1 of the 3 offerings available which my kids wouldn’t eat. I shared my frustration with that and the night we had and they looked at me like”oh well?” Some service recovery would’ve helped and they really acted like they could care less. Never again. This place is cold and bleh.

We booked last minute through Hotel Tonight and got a very nice rate. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and was clean and well appointed. Although they make a lot of their pillow selection, note that you have to call the front desk and request a different pillow. We wish we had done this! The pillows on the bed were way too tall and too firm and we did not get good sleep. The beds and linens were nice, however. The water pressure in the shower was strong. The hotel is conveniently located close to restaurants and shops along the creek, and an easy walk to anything downtown. NOTE: If you're traveling without a pet, be sure to ask for a room in the main building, not the pet building.
Solid choice with great location

This was first time I travelled with a pet. They were very accomodating to pet owners.
You stay in a separate, smaller building with close access to walkways and grass along side. The room was large with a small porch. Room was clean though seemed older. I didn't get a chance to check the other building rooms. NO elevator that I could see in pet building. Located at one end of the main street, very walkable to the park, food and shops.
