One of the best places to stay with first class staff! Ashley at the front desk is by far the best there is! Friendly, kind and makes you feel at home! She goes above and beyond to make all customers welcome.
convenient to campus

The Holiday Inn Athens is an older hotel, built in three phases over the years. Honestly, the hotel is dated and tired. The rooms are large, but note the following: there is no safe in the room, the water temp was either too hot or too cold- hard to regulate, there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, the paper products, both tissues and tp were very rough, the outlets in the lamps were too loose to work, and we felt the wind on a windy day (probably through the AC unit and not the window.) As is usual in original Holiday Inns, there is no free breakfast and everyone in our group complained about the cost of the buffet breakfast that was offered. I did like the staff though in check-in, catering, housekeeping, etc. Conclusion- there are better and newer alternatives in Athens. If price motivates you or you need to be there for an event, it's okay but don't expect much.
We stay here every time we can

This is our go-to hotel. I love being able to park our car and walk downtown as well as to campus. We always have great service as well. Its not the newest hotel in Athens or the most luxurious but it is super convenient and comfortable.
Thanksgiving buffet good, but a disappointing experience.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past, but this review is about their Thanksgiving buffet. This was our third time to go to one of their holiday buffets with our family. The two previous ones were great. Good food with good service. I don't know what happened, but today the service was terrible. We waited forever to get drinks, and refills were not offered until we were getting ready to go home. The dirty plates were not picked up, and we were forced to pile dirty plates on top of each other. The whole atmosphere was not upbeat. The employees seemed lethargic and not happy to be there. The employee who was supposed to be carving the turkey and ham was flitting about and not doing the job as it should have been done. The meat platters would get picked clean, and people would have to wait for her to reappear. All in all, a disappointing experience. We will probably try once again in the future; but if it turns out as badly as today, we will not give them a second chance.

Found a small hair under my pillow. As I used a tissue to remove the hair, found a longer strand of hair on the bed. I later found a hair in the bathtub. This is my first and ONLY visit to this hotel.
