Lovely little hotel close to the city centre. Was a nice walk from the bus station, and enjoyed my stay. Very welcoming staff and really enjoyed the hotel. Would happily stay again if visiting Avila again. Reasonable price and a comfrtoabke stay
Very nice hotel in a good location
An overnight to have a look at the lovely old city of Avila. Right at the walls ,near one of the main gates, this hotel is not big but is nicely done out inside . Our room was more than adequate , facing the ( quite busy at times ....the streets come to life quite early in the morning here ) street on the reception side of the hotel . The other side would face the walls and you can exit to that side via the restaurant at most times ( not late at night though). Decent modern bathroom ... a flashing showerhead , woo hoo, but a crack in the basin ...not really serious in reality. Friendly personnel based on our short interactions , and breakfast , albeit fairly basic, was good quality, nicely set out and I think was good value at Eur 5. Aircon seemed a bit weak so maybe as well it was cooling down from the summer peaks ( and the city is 3700 feet up...so the height of Scafell Pike / Snowdon ) .... A solid 3 star hotel for a decent rate ...a good 8.5 out of 10. Torrance Traveller warns you : Avila is pretty shut up on a Sunday evening so check whats open....
Not breathable and Noise!
Good location! Bed is small and cheap made. The room has a good size, but it doesn’t have much. However, the hotel is using artificial perfume in the room and the hallway. I have respiratory problems and am feeling suffocated. I could not open the window wider. Also, my room is # 206, which Is under the restaurant and it is so noisy. I just checked in and can not wait to leave.
Central but very basic
The hotel’s website photos are deceiving. The hotel appears more charming than it is. If traveling solo you may find yourself in a very basic cramped room. My room overlooked an outside wall. The hotel is a short walk outside of the city walls and can be confusing to find as there are two entrances, one of which is a restaurant. Staff at reception was courteous and helpful. Worth paying a little more in such a beautiful city.
We stayed here just one night. Great location at the walls of the city. Very comfortable room, old style but all modern amenities. Breakfast was fine. Great view of the mountains from room. Mercadona supermarket just 5 minutes away down the hill.
