Great stopover between East and West of Lofoten.

We had the Design Studio and it was well done, quiet location, comes with free parking that has EV charging ports. Room size was excellent. Rooms had TV with access to Netflix, Prime and Apple TV if you wanted to take a chill on a rainy day. Breakfast wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Just another boring European breakfast you will see in hotels. Not much to say about the view as its not the bestest part of the Lofoten but its a nice stop if you want to take few days chilled. Little difficult to find the reception. Beds were not that comfortable but then I am starting to think this is Norway thing.

Selling rorbu as Solsiden brygge at other location

Reviewed 21 july, 2021

My extended family went last week to Ballstad and Solsiden brygge for a rorbu vacation. One of the purpose was to be United at the same premeses/ location. During the check in the staff started to explain how to find our rorbu by car in a another part of Ballstad. I said this is a mistake. We have order a rorbu at Solsiden brygge, then the staff explained how impresis and how limited information i had been through as a preperation. In addition i had also been order through Booking.com and then i was responsible for everything by myself. I didn’t understand Solsiden brygge was some kind of a Airbnb aggregator i Ballstad. If I was aware of that i would used another company or order direct in Airbnb myself. I informed the Owner how dissatisfied i was and they offer us a hot tub for the evening.as a compensation. This is the reason way the rating not ended with 1

Bad booking routines…

Reviewed 30 may, 2021

We booked online at the company website, got a booking confirmation number and were all set to try this accomandation. A couple og hours before our arrival a employee called us and told us that they had double booked our room. The only reason my rating isn’t a 1 is the help we got finding a different accomodation, at the same price. We tought we were safe booking at the company website and not at a booking site like booking.com or hotels.com, but this shows that the company don’t have good enough systems. Not recommended…

Great place to stay and return to again

Reviewed 30 august, 2019

My husband and I arrived at the Solsiden brygge around 4:45pm. It was difficult to find reception at first, we later found signs and figured out that they were saying "reception" in Norwegian. The reception faces the water. There is very easy parking as well. We had a great first impression of room. We were in Room #6 on the 2nd floor above the restaurant. There are other types of rooms on the property as well. Our rooms was fantastic, good size, extremely comfortable bed, electric blackout shades, small pantry that includes a sink, dishwasher, small refrigerator and some dishes/silverware. There was also a good amount of storage space. The room had a juliet balcony with a great views as well. The bathroom even had dual shower heads. I do have a few complaints on the room design, which include the following: • I wish there was a trashcan in the main room and not just a tiny one in the bathroom • There isn't an electronic key fob for the entry door, instead there is an annoyingly large key • There is no counter space in the bathroom (it's one large sink that splashes you if your not careful) or a place to put anything in the shower • Keep in mind some rooms are on the 2nd floor with no elevator. My husband had to lug our very heavy luggage up a flight of stairs. Breakfast is included in the stay, it's buffet style 9am to 11am. There was a good variety of options. We had dinner at the hotel the first night. It's a limited menu, but has good food with a nice and cozy atmosphere. It is expensive like the rest of Norway. Had an incident with the showers, tried showering in the evening after a long day of hiking. Unfortunately, both drains to the dual shower heads were clogged and water quickly flooded into both the bathroom and main room. It was a big mess and happened quickly. We cleaned up most of it and alerted the hotel staff. Since it was the evening they said they would have someone come fix it the next day. The issue was fixed, but annoying for sure. Staff was very friendly and tried to address the issue quickly. Another thing to note is the hotel reception hours. We were surprised that they are not open in the mornings. I think they open either at 11 or noon. We didn't actually realize it until we were trying to check out around 8:30am. We weren't sure what to do, but there was a large mailbox near the front door, so we left the ket in the box. We did enjoy our stay overall and would love to return someday.
