My home in Bangkok

I have been coming here for 5 years. I live in southern Thailand and go to Bangkok for embassy buisiness, shoping and dining and to host friends traveling.. The location keeps getting better. Near the major tourist attractions, now with a skytrain station, access to the river. Rooms are simple but clean and comfy. The deck has a good breakfast, easy place for a meal. The staff are helpful for tours, local businesses. My daughter had an upset stomach. They told me where to find chicken soup in the middle of the night. I love that I can take friends to Wat Pho in the early morning and late afternoon and miss the huge tours. I also love the street life. In the heart of the massage schools, and walking distance from the flower market.
Excellent Location to Visit the Famous Buddhas

We loved this place. It isn’t fancy but it is clean, has a frig and the water was hot once I learned how the shower works. We liked all of the staff. They were very kind to us. The breakfast was delicious. Their lunch is very reasonably priced and delicious. Be sure to order their Mango Shake. It is very close to the Grand Palace. And reasonably close to the other Buddha’s we wanted to see like the reclining Buddha that is in easy walking distance. The Temple of Dawn a short ferry ride. The Golden Buddha is a little further but still near by. Their sister hotel is on the river and just a short walk away. They have an excellent restaurant, Deck on the River. It is right on the river with a terrace where we ate every night. I highly recommend this hotel for the budget minded traveler.
Brilliant Area, Price and people!

The Gate is actually a restaurant down stairs with a couple of foods upstairs for guests (especially tourists like me). I booked through booking.com (I would recommend booking straight though the hotel). For 6 people and 3 rooms it was £106 - including breakfast, with views of the temples and and literally 5-10 minute walk away from the main sites. My mum is disabled and being so close made the whole trip much more bearable. The staff where lovely and the room was SPOTLESS. Shampoo, conditioner, towels, everything you could need was available, even a kettle in your room. We only stayed for one night but felt so welcomed. I fully believe any money this place makes is well deserved and booking.com operate a non-refundable cancellation policy (of which the hotel recives non of). In the morning, they where able to put together a vegan/vegetarian breakfast for myself and my sister at short notice. They are also the only place I had really noticed offering a vegetarian Thai menu. The hotel is surprisingly quite too despite being in the very center of the city and its sights.
I would love to stay here again, thank you so much Chetuphon Gate!

A comfortable room with AC, shower, WiFi and refrigerator. No frills. Great location to take cool down breaks between visiting Wat Po, grand palace and Wat Arun. We had views from our room of both Wat Po and Wat Arun. The hotel restaurant is average but great restaurants nearby. Overall a great experience at a great price.
