Never again

Reviewed 17 july, 2019

My wife and I stayed there this week, never again will that happen. We told them we would be arriving by overnight bus and getting to hotel about 8am. When we arrived we were told our room was ready, but as it was before 2pm we had to to pay 25% extra even though the room was ready, I don’t think so, so much for customer service and wanting to make first time customers happy. The wifi is woefully bad, we were on the 5 floor, just gave up in the end, totally useless. Be careful as we were at the back of the building directly adjacent to the the BTS, you will hear train noise all night and the high pitch sound of steel on steel from the train wheels. The Soi (road) is not well lit after dark and my wife felt uncomfortable walking back to the hotel. The split system air conditioning was right above our bed and rattling all night. The rooms are small, the bed hard and overall interior dirty. Would I stay there again, never.

Valued of money

We booked a room as Sky6 includes 6 single bed, 6 lockers, 3 restrooms and 2 bathrooms. The facilities quite good such as reading light, charger plug, hair dryer and kettle etc. The hotel provides water cooler on each floor. The room was clean but look old. The staff was friendly and helpful. Also near by Chatuchak Weekend Market. You can go there by taxi, motorcycle or walk around 10-15 minute. It's not far from MRT. It's highly recommended for family or group traveller.

It was okay

The only reason i booked this hotel cause i want to spend a day nearby chatucak market. It was actually not too close to the market either. You need to walk 20-30 mins or grab a taxi would be easier (5 mins ride). Check in was quick, i come earlier than check in time but they did let me in. Room was okay but actually bed was a bit hard but still i could sleep on it. Also air con is too noisy. Overall it was okay i need cheap accommodation though.

Real Bankok

Pluses: modern, clean, quiet & the staff being polite & speaking good English. Modern electric showers. Hot & cold water font on every floor. Air con. Close to Bus Station & Sky Train. Tips: The hotel demands a 500 baht deposit for damages & the list is quite extensive. Although minutes away from a busy commuter main road (Transit HQ round the corner) this hotel is in a (darkish) backwater street. There is minimal lighting but enough to see by. There are no bars or restaurants in this street however there are shops & pop-up food sellers. You can get freshly fried chicken at 3.30 in the morning. Mini mart open 24 hours. The natives are friendly, inquisitive & polite. We felt safe even in the early hours of the morning. Taxi meter cabs run frequently down this street during daylight. 65 -75 baht to to the bus station & 215 baht to Nana Plaza. Minuses: no hot water or plugs in the wash basin. Toilet roll holder next to the shower. (Particular bug bear of mine) no room safe. Not even deposit boxes in reception. The is no food at this hotel even though it advertises breakfast as extra. No vending machines.

Night staff very incompetent

Reviewed 31 october, 2017

Needed a couple rooms nearby Mo Chit Bus station just for a day. This hotel fitted my requirements. Chines Owner Lady was extremely agreeable. Allowed me to check in early seeing I needed to lie down as my legs were bad. Standard room, very clean, excellent free wifi connection. Both rooms equally confortable. Nothing fancy but quite suitable Everything would have been perfect BUT on the evening of departure taxi arrived, my family went to wait in it while I waited a the reception for my deposit refund as is customary. Clerck told me "Sorry Sir, we must withdraw 150 bahts from your deposit for small towel" .... What small towel???? Never took any small towel (indeed rooms had very small, visibly old and worn out towelette worth barely 50 or 60 bahts New in any market) I insisted no one had taken any towelette. Still clerck only returned 750 bahts from my 1000 deposit. About 25 minutes later while waiting for my bus at the station, that clerck called on my cell phone "Sorry Sir the maid found the missing towel in your bed, how can we refund you?" And being I have an account in a thai bank, I was indeed refunded for that 150 bahts. BUT what I want to say is not about the money, 150 bahts is not worth making such trouble. It is more the very unpleasantness of it all which could have easily been avoided as it left a very poor image of that hotel.
