We loved everything about this hotel - faultless

I stayed one night at the Golden Tulip Troyes with my friend & my tiny dog. We were en route to Geneva where I’m moving to take up a new job. I was sorry to be spending just one night. This hotel was fabulous. The staff, each & every one we encountered, were amazing. So friendly, accommodating & genuinely interested in the guests. Our room (2 double beds) was huge. The beds, while firm, were very comfortable & we each enjoyed an excellent sleep. The food at dinner was very good & breakfast choices excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this outstanding hotel

Not worth the time or money

Hotel is in the middle of an industrial estate with no walkable amenities. Pool is basic and small. Rooms are dirty and cramped. Food is expensive, pretentious and unpleasant, (asparagus and sweet potatoes puree was like bland baby food).

Clean and comfortable.

Comfortable, clean rooms. Free coffee and orange juice in the morning, friendly staff member on arrival who spoke great English. Easy parking, nice facilities for children including toys and books and an outdoor pool. This was a good place to stop on a drive further south. Only caveat is that an actual mug for hot drinks in the room would have been better than the paper cups provided. What person ever wants a hot drink in a paper cup?

a little quiet gem and green oasis in the middle of an industrial aerea

The hotel is apparantly completely renovated on the inside with relatively small but nice rooms and bathroom with seperare toilet next. Showering in the bath is ok ( I am 6 ft 7 ) but difficult toget really wet when you are tall. Rooms have airco. offee and teamaker present as an modern flatscreen tv. As normal in France and Spain : the beds are not soft it not to hard. The outside space with good swimming pool is an oasis also for ( small ) kids with small play area and lots of grass and trees. Dos are allowed. Very friendly staff and Englisch spoken at the reception. The breakfast is OK with scrambles eggs, sausages, bacon, boiled eggs and small crepes apart from the usuall french stuff ( croissants, aguettes etc). Coffe , tea , apple juice and orange use free available all day Nice dinig setup outside and inside. The food is reasonable but a bit pricy for what you get. Would be nice to ( in this day and age) to have vegetables with every main course or be able to choose some. We will certainly be back when we need a stop over for 1-2 days. The airport nextdoor is no problem woth only small planes.

Second visit, even better than our first.

This was our second one night ‘stopover’ and last time (2020) we were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of our dinner. If anything, this visit exceeded our first and whilst the reception staff were just as friendly and spoke excellent English, the meal was fantastic. In fact the restaurant was full so we were glad to have made a reservation. We were very impressed by our starter which was salmon nigiri in miso which was just warm so as not to cook the salmon. We must thank our waiter Nicolas for being attentive but without being intrusive. I do like it when the serving staff have confidence in the food such that they don’t keep asking if everything is OK; of course it is! Nicolas also introduced us to the local champagne (Chassenay d’Arce) which was very good value and just to our taste. Our room was clean and quiet. It was also generous with 2 queen size double beds for the 3 of us.
