Dirty hotel in need of complete renovation

Dirty, smelly hallways, cracked counter in bathroom and flaking ceilings in room. Disgusting! It was only $88 for a night, but we did not sleep well due to the conditions of the hotel. Everything in the hotel looked to be the originAl and it badly needs to be renovated!

I usually keep my reviews on here pretty positive. If I'm writing a negative review, as I'm about to, that means things went pretty poorly..
We booked a weekend at the Quality Inn Batavia because my now 9 year old has been asking to go back to the Waterpark since we attended the New Year's event in 2016.
Sadly, in the nearly five years since we last stayed, I don't think the property has seen a vacuum, coat of paint, or single maintenance task performed.
Waterpark or not, we will not be back.
Our encounters with the staff were positive. They all seemed like nice kids who were put in charge of a circus they knew they couldn't control.
We truly question if the sheets in our room were fresh. The pillows were stained with makeup. The washcloths were so worn in places that you could literally see through them. The towels were tagged to another hotel franchise, indicating that they were second-hand. The pull out couch mattress was stained. There were bugs attracted to the drain in the sink next to the fridge.
The common areas were definitely dirtier though. We observed the same cigarette butt reside in the elevator (the one elevator that worked) for the entire weekend. The same soda spill next to the couch in the lobby remained from Saturday afternoon through when we left Sunday.
The outside access doors that claim to be locked after 11pm never are.
The breakfast was a miserable attempt at service (even adjusted for COVID). I would have honestly preferred they didn't even offer it.
The gameroom off the lobby has 3 times more out of order games in it than functional ones.
Globs of hair float around in the Waterpark.
The Pepsi machine charges your card an undisclosed upcharge for using a card.
The biggest slap in the face is at checkout, when they tell you that you cannot earn any Choice points for your stay, because $411 for 2 nights is a non-qualified rate. They don't disclose this up front. And you have to make the reservation via phone to have access to the Waterpark, so it's not like they can hide it in the fine print.
This property is obviously a cash cow for the owners, and they have no intention of investing back into the building.
Choice Hotels needs to pull their flag from this building, because there is nothing Quality about it.

Went for a work trip. Place looks nice on the website so I wasnt too concerned being a work trip and my company generally only gets nice rooms in credible hotels.
Holy craphole ! There was a hole in the door, the room wasn't cleaned after the last person who stayed. This place isn't worth paying $8 per night let alone $150. Needless to say 30 minutes after arriving and checking in, I checked out and drove home. Id rather make the 5 hour drive each day than stay in this disgusting dump. During my 20 minute wait at the counter to get checked in I decided to take a walk around to check out the restaurant and bar. They were both closed down permanatly from what I could tell. I noticed a door open to what appeared to be a room for parties and such. Trash everywhere ! McDonald's cups, papers, soda bottles all over the floor and tables like the employees take breaks in there and just throw their garbage down when they're finished. Garbage in the hallways and worst of all... the bed was never changed and the last person appeared to have a #2 in the white bed sheets. Asked for a different room and was told they had none available despite only being 4 cars in the parking lot. This place is a so gross I can't even explain. The atrocities ! DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES !!!
I can't give a negative score or I would. You dont have to take my word for it. Book a stay and see for yourself.
Stay Away! Even one circle is too high of a rating!

I've stayed there many times in the past when I lived in the area and it was great. I even hosted a convention there but that was under old ownership. Recently had to travel back to the area for a family funeral and the price was right, so I made reservations. The second we entered the lobby we knew something was wrong and by the time we got in a room, we knew that we had to find an alternate hotel. The smell of urine slapped us in the face the second we opened the door. The furniture was falling apart and the carpeting not even stuck to the floor. We checked the bed and found bed bug signs. Mold as half and inch thick on the bathroom floor and shower walls. And we found marihuana residue in the nightstand. Desk clerk was nice enough to not even try to give us another room. He just refunded our card so we could get out of there fast.
What a complete dump!

This hotel is so run down and falling apart. Hallways were super hot and stuffy with no air conditioning. There as a rotting cheeseburger in the hallway and a chicken wing stuffed in a couch in the lobby, the entire time we were there. Stairwells were extremely filthy. Only one set of elevators was working and they smelled like pee and old smoke. The website said there is an outdoor pool -- there is but only if you want to swim with a dead bird in brown, filthy water. They told us it hasn't been working in years. Why haven't they changed their website? The indoor waterpark was nice and fun for the kids, however it opens at 10 am, closes from 1 - 3 pm for cleaning, and closes for the night at 7 pm. What awful hours! The breakfast was awful and was mainly granola bars and dry oatmeal. Never again will we stay there. What a nightmare!
