Lifetime Titanium Elite recommends Hyatt Regency - Bellevue

Reviewed 2 december, 2022

Absolutely worst customer experience by the Front Desk, especially AlexN. Put aside my loyalty status, I wasn’t even treated as a valued guest. My check in experience ruined my stay. Not only did he mismanage the situation, he told me he is the manager. He really made me feel like I was a criminal. Just zero empathy with no ability to provide a solution (I forgot my corp card to receive a rate). Westin Bellevue, wake up! There are others options for people working with Microsoft or spending the weekend in Bellevue. I have had way better service with no loyalty status at Hyatt. Positive: Valet provided excellent service and we had a positive experience with housekeeping. No upgrades and nothing offered to Titanium members. Hotel is in a good location to access Bellevue Square and Lincoln Square, but so is Hyatt Regency, which has superior service and much nicer property. Hyatt Regency is also connected to the walkways to get to Lincoln Square and Bellevue Square. Easy to self park at Hyatt and much more comfortable rooms and views. Use your Bonvoy card at Hyatt.

Don't waste your elite status here

Reviewed 4 november, 2022

If you're an experienced and discriminating traveler, you'll understand the opinion I'm sharing here: I was disappointed by the inexperienced staff clueless in meeting the expectations of guests who've attained Bonvoy elite status; I shared my disappointment with staff and management prior to posting reviews, but do not feel that I was taken seriously or that anyone cares; even the room itself was a disappointment - sparsely furnished; the rest of the hotel gives the impression of being ready for renovation, i.e., depressing. OTOH, if you normally stay in hotels that include an integer in the name (like 6 or 8), or perceive luxury when the brand starts with the word "Red," then be ready for a big upgrade to your family reunion, away-from-the-trailer experience! For those of us who live on the road part of the year in our professional lives and have logged a few thousand stays in business-class hotels, you'll instantly know that this property doesn't meet one's expectations for a Westin. I moved to the Hyatt, #1 Trip Advisor in Bellevue, after one night.

Dirty room

Reviewed 9 october, 2022

We have stayed at this particular Westin several times. We stay for the convenience of its location to things downtown. We’ve always been satisfied with our stay even though the hotel needs updating and it’s way overpriced for what you get. We are bonvoy members as well. We booked a deluxe room with a balcony for a one night stay for our anniversary. We were so grossly disappointed! The first room we were given was so dirty we couldn’t stay in it. Absolutely disgusting. We were told we could switch rooms to one flow below which was a bit better but still so gross. The balcony was absolutely filthy, food smeared on a lamp, old party decorations hanging on a picture frame, scotch tape stuck to the wall, a brown substance smeared on the bathroom door jam and more. You would think that the staff would of been mortified to have a guest be given a room in this condition let alone two but that was the case for us. No real apology or offer to discount our stay for the trouble of wasting our time calling, waiting, moving etc and paying over 400 dollars to be stuck in filth. They have all sorts of Covid clean standards advertised…I absolutely do not believe any of it. What a let down on our anniversary and a joke overall. Just bad business.

Good Location but Dated Room

Reviewed 7 october, 2022

Stayed here due to its location being central to Bellevue Square. Check-in was quick and efficient and was able to check-in early with no problems. The lady checking in was nice to mention that self-parking was free on Friday and Saturday and I would only have to pay Sunday; this saved a good amount and was a nice tip. I was upgraded to a higher floor room and the room itself was average. It wasn't big nor was it small. It might have been that they included two seats in the room that made it feel smaller. The view was of the buildings across the street where construction was happening, however, never heard noise when I was in the room in the morning or night. The room had an updated flat screen TV with good selection of channels but everything else in the room felt dated. There was no microwave in room and the fridge was locked. It might have been the lighting or the lack of outlets (other than the desk). Oddly, the room also carried noise from next door when they would talk loud or bring up or down the curtains. The bathroom itself was fine and water temperature and pressure never was an issue. Beds were plush and comfortable. One night during my stay, the power went out for maybe 3 hours. It was weird but fortunately the service elevator was working as I walked down to see what was going on and having to walk back up would have been painful. The maintenance crew did give me a glow stick. The staff was super apologetic for the issue; power was out for the whole hotel as well as a building nearby, so it wasn't isolated to the hotel. Overall, I didn't come away impressed with the hotel and would contemplate staying here again depending on pricing against the other two hotels nearby. For the price, I think I expected a little more and just felt it was average and underwhelmed.

Won’t be back

Marriott ambassador member here; stay in 150+ Marriott properties each year. Visited this property multiple times now and it consistently disappoints. It’s old, tired, and frankly way to expensive for what you get. Unfortunately the client facing (FOH) staff is also not Marriott standard. Every time I’ve encountered rude, untrained, and disrespectful staff. It’s not just one bad apple, it’s rampant. This property is convenient for visiting many clients, but in the future I’ll be staying elsewhere. Convenience is not worth putting up with Westin any longer.
