A great stay during the pandemic
2 nights here were wonderful. This is our first hotel stay since the Covid-19 so we were very nervous. But we are glad we chose Holiday Inn & Suites Bellingham. They have very good protocols to protect guests and employees. Of course, it is less convenient but it really gives us a peace of mind during the pandemic. We used reward nights but that did not lower any quality of services we received. We got a 1-bdrm suite with a trundle bed for 4 of us. Everything was smooth from a reservation to check-in till check-out. John checked us in quickly and explained to us all necessary information about the facilities during our stay. He was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and modern. It is very big and well laid out. There's a king bed in the main room with a trundle bed (and another TV) in a small room (with no door). Bathroom is clean and spacious. We used the kitchen and the full-sized fridge quite a lot during our stay. Everything was working with no problem. The location is great just 5 mins off I-5 with Fred Myer, Costco, and a few fastfood near by. Although the hotel is across the street from the Bellingham Intl' airport, it is very quiet. Not what we expected actually. When checking out, Jennifer kindly gave us an extra hour to pack up per our request. We are also allowed to hang out in the lobby (of course with masks on at all time) to let our kids finish their online classes before hitting the road. Overall, we are very impressed with this hotel both the facilities and staff and will very likely stay here again if we need to be in Bellingham area.
The whole place needs vacuuming bad
Nice hotel but all I can think of is the dirty carpets! From the lobby to the hallway to the room, just so sad because is a nice place. Sucks the swimming pool is close, restaurants and even the ICE MACHINE is not in service because “of COVID-19 “ The ICE MACHINE?!?! Crazy if you ask me but I think is necessary to have in any hotel. I saw some trash by the ice machine when I arrived and they were still there when I left.
Good base for exploring
We just stayed 2 nights. We used this hotel as a base for exploring the area, Chuckanut, Picture Lake, etc. The hotel is directly across the street from the airport. It's 4 stories, very large, and very clean. Restaurant was closed, no outdoor seating, and no breakfast, thank you covid 19. The staff was friendly and if it had not been for the pandemic I'm sure we would have given this place a 5 bubble. Within a 5 to 10 minutes drive you are in downtown Bellingham with lots of restaurant and shopping options. Super comfortable bed, glorious AC, and a rainwater shower. Would recommend.
I'd give them more stars if I could
We flew in mid afternoon to Bellingham Airport in the middle of the Covid19 pandemic. We were booked to stay at the hotel overnight, pick up our car - which was being shipped from California - the next morning, then drive home to Victoria, BC. The car arrived earlier than expected so we didn't need the room. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They not only cancelled our reservation with no notice, they allowed us and our dogs to stay in the lobby all afternoon while we waited for the car, and even had the kitchen make us a meal, which they served to us in the lobby. I would give them even more stars if I could. They helped us out at a difficult time and made us feel more than welcome. Thank you to the desk staff and the kitchen staff - your kindness was much appreciated.
Wonderful and Convenient
Very friendly people even when having a bite to eat at 10:30 pm in their restaurant. I left my car at the hotel and literally walked across the parking lot to the airport. Too easy. Room was exceptionally clean. I asked the front desk if the hotel had just opened, it hadn’t, but it looked like it. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
