A great time at Potamaki

Reviewed 15 november, 2022

Stayed with my daughter and had a great time at this hotel. The staff are super helpful and went the extra mile to make our holiday special. The pool was convenient, the entertainment was fun and the location was great for visiting local restaurants or speeding a day on the beach.

The location of hotel really grate. In Benitses you will found lot off grate places for take a meal. In Corfu city we doesnt found nothing good, so was twice happy that live in Benitses. The see is across he street, maybe itsnot the most beautifull beach, but water is warmer and not so windy, without waves (another part of island is maybe beautifull but other things is not). Hotel rooms are clean, simply, maybe can be better water pressure on 4th floor. Lovely view from our balcony to the see, we had second room to another side of hotel, and the view are too nice - more to the mountains. Staf was nice and helpfull, breakfast was good too, everything was enought. In the hotel bar was nice girls, which was always smiley and friendly. Thanks to her:) Pool was clean, sunbeds near pool are free. On the beach you must pay 4eur per sunbed, but you have one drink for free. So its grate deal :) Thanks Florian who care about guests on the beach. Always get drinks quickly, was friendly and helpfull.

Bargain Hotel, Great Location

This was our 5th year at this hotel, it has never let us down, perfect location, get the bus into Corfu town, relax on the beach, swim before breakfast. A great place to chill. Walk to the small town of Benitses, plenty of choices to eat out.

Great family holiday

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Rooms were cleaned daily and housekeeping did a great job. Good AC. Nice breakfast with varied choice. Had Triple room with sea view - lovely views from the balcony and able to watch the evening entertainment from there. Ideal location … beach is across the road along with a bus stop for easy access to explore other areas. Good local shops with a wide range of restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel … great value and great location!

Not for us!

Reviewed 8 august, 2022

Just got back from a 10 day stay. Hotel: Staff very friendly and helpful, Hotel and rooms are very clean and tidy, rooms need an update, as a family of 3 we had to share a room that is really made for 2, a camp bed was made up that had a very hard mattress, all pillows were too hard for our preference which gave us neck ache but could be OK for others. The balcony looked a decent size yet we could only use half of it as the aircon dripped terribly leaving puddles or getting dripped on if you sat there, so we had to scrunch up to one side. The bathroom is quite small but as we're dainty people we wernt too bad but I would say if you was larger/taller as I've read other reviews it might not be as comfortable to use. The water temp and flow of the shower had been fine for us, don't know if it makes a difference to what floor your on, we was on the first floor. Be prepared to get touched up by the shower curtain that sticks to you, oh and the shower floods the bathroom, so plenty of towels need putting down. If your someone who likes a good sleep/children sleeping etc I wouldn't recommend a room at the front hotel like we did (room 106) as 3times a week they have entertainment on the finishes about midnight but then they create a nightclub till 1.30 Room had a fridge that kept everything luke warm, I'd recommend taking some hangers as there wasn't many for 3 people, theres a hairdryer, TV and safe. WiFi excellent even round pool. Room is cleaned everyday with fresh bedding, towels, soap and some mini toiletries given. Pool: Plenty of sunbeds and shade to choose from and pool very clean Food: Was very poor (I didn't expect lots as it's a 3 star) breakfast was OK and same every morning, supper was appalling some nights, nothings labelled so I had to guess what I was eating,it was more or less same every night, got to end of the holiday and we wasn't even bothered of eating, there was no order so bumping into people, puddings was laughable with most nights being watermelon (I have such a sweet tooth for cake so was disappointed there was none), Olga (waitress) did an amazing job but is over worked, food temp was OK but I don't like things hot anyway, dining room always seemed clean. Saw some different family's having to share tables as it was busy. Location: for us personally we didn't like the location as there was nothing much to do. 5mins either side of the hotel and that was it. There seems to be a hiking area at the back going up the mountain which would have been great to do if we didn't have a stroppy teenager in tow. The road is a little busy infront of the hotel but we couldn't hear from our room. Corfu beaches are pebbly and the sea has lots of seaweed in it (doesn't bother us but some might not like it) the beach was unkept with rubbish (pizza boxes etc tossed to the sides. The beach is thin and short so be prepared to share your beach towel with others as they might as well sit on you, couldn't have a stroll up and down unless you stand on people too. Corfu Town is about 30mins (we went at 10am) it's cheaper to get tickets from the shop next door to hotel rather than pay on bus, we paid on bus as shop was shut, typical! Cost us for 3 €6.90 which is 1.50 more than the shop. Taxi to/from airport cost €35
