We liked the look of the property and the location. Front desk staff were friendly. Room was nice, clean, comfortable and quiet. Check out staff were also friendly. No complaints about breakfast, it suited us just fine. We were on a 15 day cross country trip through 18 states staying in a variety of properties and this is one we would recommend and return to. Good value.
Clean and quiet

Very clean and quiet. Very good bed and pillows. I would stay here again. I did not use the pool, or the free breakfast. Can’t comment on those. Only complaint is the air conditioner. Could not find a happy medium. Either too warm, or too cold. Nice place overall.
When you're in the middle of nowhere, you don't have many options...

The Comfort Inn in Benson seemed to be our best option while visiting Tombstone. While I would have preferred to stay in Tucson, which has a MUCH larger variety of hotel options, we did a ghost tour in Tombstone that was ending in the dark. So, we thought a shorter drive to Benson would be better than a longer one to Tucson. To be honest, we normally stay a hotels other than Comfort Inn because, simply put, there are typically better options at similar price points - Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Tru by Hilton, Aloft, etc. It had been a WHILE since our last Comfort Inn stay, so perhaps it's inappropriate to compare this Comfort Inn to other chains. But, having stayed at other hotel brands very recently, this Comfort Inn seemed very lackluster in comparison. It was clean, I'll give it that. Was it "comfortable?"
Not really...the Comfort Inn name is very ironic! Overall, it's very mediocre.

We have stayed in hundreds of these hotel over the last few years. This hotel provides a good night’s stay at a fair price. The positives: clean room, a/c, quiet room, guest laundry, good wifi, walking distance to several fast food restaurants, 4 miles from downtown Benson, good water pressure in sink and shower, good room lighting, comfortable bed. The negatives: front desk staff is not practicing current COVID mask protocols, staff gathers at front door and smokes, staff seems rather unmotivated. Note- breakfast (what little they provide nowadays) was supposed to be out at 6:30 am but at 6:25 not a soul was stirring and nothing was put out. Bottom line- we would stay there again.
Not Covid-safety compliant in any manner.

While the heading on their listing says “This property has indicated that they are taking safety precautions against COVID-19” that is wholly inaccurate. Everyone here is very nice, but not one single employee is wearing a mask. I’ve seen housekeeping on their daily runs in and out of rooms and not one is wearing any PPE, and in the stockroom with laundry and towels the staff is in there without any appropriate protection against spreading germs to each other or the things they’re bringing to guests. The front desk staff do have masks, but are wearing them down around their chins, which as I understand it defeats the purpose. It’s otherwise clean and nice, but as all the banners on this website warn about traveling during the pandemic, it’s worth noting that this hotel is pretending that such a thing does not exist. I’m hoping management changes course and gives travellers to Benson the service they are promising to with their COVID-19 statement.
