ENCHANTED B/B Stop & Sleep Bergamo, and we are coming back!

Reviewed 10 january, 2020

Andrea was absofreakinglutely amazing! He walked down the street to greet us walking from the train! He introduced us to the B/B and all of its amenities, explaining everything, in clear English, how things worked in the room and shared space kitchen (stocked with breakfast and snack food, at no additional cost). This lovely and enchanting location is wonderful for exploring cafes and cocktail bars in this historic town. Later in the evening, we walked one block to catch a city bus that brought us to Citta Alta, the medieval city. There, we journeyed back into time, ate a sumptuous dinner and came back to the B/B. The bathroom was immaculate, our room was absolutely clean, and we hated to leave the next day, but our friends were arriving to take us to Cremona. WE WILL BE BACK! I am very impressed with how much information that Andrea was able to give us! He certainly is a most wonderful host! Best wishes from Anthony and Loree/Dolores!

The location of the B&B is in a perfect location because is in the center of Bergamo and is near the train station. I stayed for 6 weeks for a good price and the owner is a nice person, the rooms are clean, the kitchen has everything for the breakfast and you can use the kitchen for cook whatever you want.

You can actually walk to or from the station as well. This B & B is actually a 2 bedroomed flat with separate bathrooms/shower. There are also a kitchen plus a sitting/dining room. It's within walking distance to a Mini market in case you want to buy some food and use the microwave to heat it. That's about 5 to 10 minutes away depending on how fast you walk and just round the corner from there you will find a very beautiful Cathedral in case you'd like to hear Mass, there are also lots of shops, restaurants, pizzerias etc. You can also explore the city by foot - it is a beautiful city and this is the 'modern' part but NOT thank goodness 'modern' with many hideous apartments. You can also get to the old part of Bergamo which is built on a hill either by bus or by cablecar. WE didn't have time to visit this part as since I use a wheelchair and it was rather cold and drizzlilng for the first two days we couldn't manage that. La Signora Fulvia who owns the apartment is a very kind and helpful lady. The place is also very clean and there is a tv in each bedroom. I do not know whether the price varies according to which time of the year you visit so you will have to ask the lady about that. You can find it and book over Facebook.
