Nice hotel that adapted to COVID-19
Overall, this was an excellent stay due the helpfulness of the staff. The staff was very helpful and the hotel made COVID-19 adjustments while still providing reasonable service. Booking: Booking was quick and simple. I used the Marriott Bonvoy application. Check-in: There were no issues with check-in. My platinum status was recognized. I was upgraded to an executive room with a nice view. Room: The room and bathroom were nice and relatively modern. They were similar to the Frankfurt and Munich Marriotts. Lounge: The lounge had coffee and beverages but no other services due to COVID-19. Due to the circumstances, there was a very nice alternative for guests who had access to the executive lounge. There was a dinner menu to order from in the foyer/bar area. They had appetizers and main courses along with alcoholic beverages. All of them were excellent. Gym: The gym and pool were closed due to COVID-19. Breakfast: As a platinum member, I received complimentary breakfast. It was at the restaurant and was just ok. The selection was much smaller than what I experienced at the Frankfurt and Munich Marriotts most likely due to COVID-19. They still were able to produce something decent to include omelettes. The staff was very nice as well. Check out: There were no issues during check out. I used express mobile check out. Overall, it was a very good stay though due to COVID-19 circumstances I bumped it up to excellent. The staff did what they could and the hotel still offered reasonable benefits given the COVID-19 circumstances.
Just an average hotel
The hotel was just average. My room was dirty especially the shower. I found mold on the shower and dirt under the bed. The last complaint was every morning at 9 am there was a drill going off on the other side of the wall.
Very satisfied with this Marriott
I booked this hotel as I am a long term Marriott user but was a bit put off by some of the latest trip advisor reviews. However everything was as it should have been at this centrally located hotel. The check in was quick and friendly. My room was in the top floor and was spacious and well equipped. The breakfast in the lounge was very good with a good choice of food and drinks. Also when I visited in the evening there was a good range of hot an cold food available Check out was also quick and friendly
Great Place to Stay in Berlin
The Berlin Marriott is a great hotel. It is currently being renovated and we were in one of the recently updated rooms - it was very comfortable ! The location of the hotel is amazing - right by Potsdamer Platz and also close the the Brandenburg Gate. The staff were very helpful and always very courteous. It was the perfect place for our trip to Berlin !
The worse hotel in Berlin.
This is the worst hotel. during the Berlin film festival, we ordered senvichi at the bar in the hotel. we waited for them 30 minutes and we started a our business meeting. during the meeting, hostess Katrin ran up to us and started screaming (yes, screaming) during our meeting that “your sandwiches were at the bar”. a minute later the barmen ran up to us and began to scream also that “your sandwiches are ready”. a minute later they threw our sandwiches into the trash (48 euros). these are inadequate people. I complained to a manager named Nicolas Bruhnke. he was rude and said that they did the right thing, that they threw away your sandwiches. then Bruhnke deliberately prevented us from staying at the hotel. also, during our stay hotel was renovated and they started at 8 in the morning. it was a hell of a staying. I am a member of Marriott and will never again stay at a hotel of this network!!!
