While the communication with the hotel was excellent, we found our unit to be a disappointment. We were in #121. Maybe it was due to our late booking, but the room is dated and right on the main road making it very noisy. The instant coffee was a real let down. They do not put top sheets on the beds, but when I asked for one, they happily provided. They are dog friendly which is a plus. The "couch" in our unit could use replacing. It was small, uncomfortable, not sturdy and stained. It did appear they took pride in the property as the grounds were tidy. If booking, I would ask the age and location of the room. It was walking distance to the lake, but you end up on the back side of the marina and it is a muddy, shallow shoreline. We were so disappointed in our overall Big Bear experience, we went home after only one night, forfeiting our second night hotel stay and payment. The town itself was so busy and congested - - may have been poor timing on our part with California just opening up post-COVID. I want to stress, that the hotel staff was wonderful.
Do NOT Stay Here Unless You Can Afford the Therapy Bills!

Do NOT do it! Seriously, do NOT do it unless you want to be paying for therapy bills for the next decade or so. We choose this place because of the indoor hot tub. We did our due diligence and cleaned the hot tub thoroughly with Lysol spray and Lysol wipes before we went boating. We got back later in the evening, sprayed and wiped it down again before rinsing it with only hot water. Once the tub was partially full, I sat in it as it continued to fill. Before the person who was with me got in they turned on the jets. I saw something out of the corner of my eye and said something. They laughed because they thought I was joking until I literally screamed.
Coming out of the jets were insects, insect wings and what looked like hair--pray that it was NOT pubic hair. They helped me get out of the jacuzzi tub as quickly as possible and I spent the next hour of so scrubbing under scarlet hot water. We tried to sleep but we both were right traumatized and grossed out. We left as soon as the sun came up. Our trip was ruined. Absolutely ruined.
We've contacted the hotel, which we booked through Air B & B, but they refuse to do the right thing and refund us. Do not book through Air B & B, it is a rip off and the "cleaning fee" is laughable.
If you aren't interested in the jacuzzi tub this place may be for you but keep in mind if they aren't cleaning the jacuzzi tub, WHAT ELSE aren't they cleaning!

My friend and I came up to Big Bear Lake on the 4th of July. We made a wise decision when we reserved a cabin at Bay Meadows. The rates were not bad and the cabins were spacious and clean. We were disappointed we hadnt allowed for another night in the cabin.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
I highly recommend the Bay Meadow Resort.
Super clean, and quiet

Was looking for a dog friendly cabin that was well priced. Some places are well priced but charge 75 for a dog. No thanks. We found this cute place and not only was it inexpensive to bring our dog, 20 bucks, but it was absolutely spotless. We were in the back in 126 so had a fireplace and a little view of the lake. Everything was great, and we would definitely stay here again! The manager was very nice and the shower was exceptional.
