Relaxing at Wolf Creek Resort

Reviewed 26 july, 2022

I arrived at the Wolf Creek Resort greeted by an extremely kind staff, the check in was fast and they were very helpful answering any questions about the area .I checked into my room on the upper level. I was very surprised at the quality and comfort..the bed was so comfortable and the pillows felt like down..exceptional bedding.I loved the antique desk and chair for getting some work done. There is a beautiful fireplace for winter use..the bathroom was immaculate, with fluffy towels and nice bath tub and shower.A vanity mirror over the sink with a microwave to your right and under a nice mini fridge with freezer! Also a coffee maker.I was happy they had an oscillating fan and another fan to keep it cool and breezy.Outside of the room is a lovely wooden bench and table to relax in while looking at the beautiful sunset or sunrise. There are also picnic tables outside. It was VERY quiet and VERY clean. This is the hidden gem of Big Bear..from the small things like beautiful folding, hairdryer and shampoo/ conditioner/lotion..to the quaint atmosphere.. I highly recommend the Wolf Creek Resort.. BEST deal for the price..even out doing higher priced choices!I will always make this my go to and hope this review helps you get there!!

Older Property But Worth It!

Reviewed 1 july, 2022

We were in room four of the two story building at the ground level. First off I was impressed with the front desk person, Luz, as she called me prior to check in to let me know if we wished to check in early that there were rooms available. I found that to be thoughtful. As it turned out we did arrive early as we were hoping to catch up with our son who is staying at Big Bear for a month to train XC with his team. However, they took off for a while before we got there so we had free time. So this call from Luz was very opportune. We arrived and met her and all I have to say is that she is the right person to have meeting guests. She has a wonderful smile and pleasant disposition. She welcomed me and checked us in quickly. Same with our checkout. The resort is as pictured. Older but in good condition. Our room, at first impression, was cozy but adequate with two double beds. There is a non-working fireplace which will be removed during their upcoming renovation. Room for a small table and chair and a large flat screen TV. The bathroom was overall clean although the inside shower curtain had rust around the edges. That could be changed. There is a microwave and small fridge and two fans as there is no a/c. We used one fan at night to circulate the air to keep the room comfortable. I don't know how well this will work in hot weather. The flat fan did not work. NOTE: Even though the sink was clean we left a cup of lemonade on the counter and we had ants in less than an hour. So don’t leave anything on the counter for too long. We killed them immediately and had no subsequent problems but we couldn’t find a trail or entry point. We suggest that the units get sprayed inside and out around the perimeters as needed. The beds were very comfortable and the location, although next to the main road was quiet in our room. For the price that they offer I believe that there is value in this property. We would certainly consider staying here again and recommend it to others.

Horrible experience

Reviewed 23 january, 2022

I spent four and half hours in grueling traffic that I wish I could have turned back but didn't want to forfeit my money. They literally had all day to message me to tell me they didn't have my room. They tried blaming Booking, but my hunch is given it was the peak weekend of the year, they deliberately oversold so that they would make the most money. After all of that, we had to scramble to find the one other room left for twice the amount. Screw them.

Very small room , bathroom is the smallest bathroom I have ever seen . So over priced . Old building . Noise from every corner . Even people taking next door or upper level you can hear them . We never seen any cleaning person . I paid almost $700 for 2 nights here which was waste of money .

Anniversary

Reviewed 5 october, 2021

Very disappointed in the way they ignores my emails. I sent them an email stating my family came down with Covid & we were very sad not to be able to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. They wouldn't give us our full refund even though we cancelled a week before our trip.
