Not the best but not the worst…

Reviewed 25 november, 2022

Stayed on a one night DBB voucher. Had this one on my list for a while so was looking forward to it. Let’s do negatives first. We were given a connecting room. I’m never a fan of those unless it’s family or friends through the door. The TV could use upgrading, the picture quality is rubbish and it made weird noises when turning on and off. The radiator cover was broken and kept falling over. We found a pair of toddlers pants on the radiator but these things happen. The walls are paper thin…and I mean paper thin. Can literally hear almost every word being said particularly in the connecting rooms. Sadly we were stuck between someone nonstop coughing and a couple who had no volume control when talking and both rooms had snorers so spent all night listening to that. Honestly one of the worst nights sleeps in a while. Speaking of which the pillows aren’t great. Very flat. Positives though…the room (hidden pants aside!) was spotless. I’m super fussy but it passed my standards. The bed was huge and we had a lovely view. The staff we encountered were all welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was lovely with a great selection. The hotel itself is very clean and the Christmas decs are gorgeous. No issues with Wi-Fi or phone. We’d definitely have returned if it hadn’t been for the noise and bad sleep. Shame really.

Excellent place to stay and eat

Second time staying here and what can I say both the hotel and the lodges are amazing very clean and very comfortable breakfast is very good poached eggs highly recommended….. dined in the on site restaurant the food is amazing…. A big shout out to my waitress Jess always smiling and happy and a pleasure talking with her… the raspberry ripple ice cream is amazing can’t wait to come back in the new year.

Fantastic service

We stayed overnight in the hotel. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was 1st class. Also the girl serving breakfast was also very friendly. Great stay and will be back soon.

The room was nice

Reviewed 11 october, 2022

Booked a room via Double room with 2 course meal and breakfast for £119. Upon arriving, i didn’t feel the normal warm welcome from the receptionist. I was asked for my card, i didn’t have my card, normally pay Apple Pay but was told they needed a physical car so i tried finding my card and it took several mins. The receptionist didn’t turn on her friendly charm until i had provided her with my card details which i did think was rather strange. The room we were in was number 3 which is on the ground floor near reception. The double room consisted of 2 singles pushed together with double bedding. The walls were quite thin so could hear the person on the other rooms tv absolutely blaring. I ended up having to go to the hospital at 11pm and was not back until 5.30am. I asked for a late check out due to this and was advised of a 12pm late checkout costing £10 which i paid. I just think given the situation it could have been provided free of charge. I get it’s a business but it’s nice to be nice. When checking out the receptionist wasn’t rude but wasn’t the friendlisest either. The visit wasn’t anything special. Nothing about the visit stood out to me, we ate in the restaurant and i have provided a review about the food. Would maybe go again but wouldn’t be top of my list.

Lovely Meal

We decided to have dinner out for our Anniversary and chose Ingliston's Palomino's restaurant. This was our fist visit. We were greeted and sat at a table overlooking the arena, which was nice. A slight downer was when the waitress requested proof of age for our 20 year old daughter (who had left her purse with id at home), but we accepted this and she ordered a soft drink. The food ordered was quick, hot and tasty and the portion sizes were huge. Overall a lovely meal was had. I would have given 5 stars but for the attitude of the waitress (she embarrassed our daughter by continuing to talk loudly about the ID, even after we had accepted the situation) and the pricing of the desserts is ridiculous. £9 for a sundae (basically 3 scoops of ice cream and 4 raspberries)
