It's not the Ritz!!
Opinión escrita el 20 de Julio de 2021
We just spent 2 nights and 3 days at the Great Wolf Lodge in Bloomington. We enjoyed our experience in the water park and with the activities for the kids (ours are 11 and 14) but we not happy with our actual room. The carpet was dirty and stained, The bunkbeds for the kids were so hard and uncomfortable they wouldn't sleep in them. The lighting at the sink was TERRIBLE - I could hardly put on my make up. There is no other mirror in the room - no full length mirror. The bed and fold out sofa had terrible mattresses and hardly a blanket on them. The refriigerator did not chill anything and there was no way to adjust it. Towels were thin. Thankfully we spent little time in the room. There was no maid service but the front desk was great about anything we needed.
Great Time for the Entire Family

Stayed here a few days ago, and was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were perfect, the water park area was great fun, and the food wasn't bad at all. It's pricey, to be sure, but if you know that going in then it won't come as much of a shock. Would recommend at least a two day visit, just to allow time to experience everything.
Staff was very friendly, and everyone we encountered seemed to actually enjoy working there.
Definitely recommend Great Wolf Lodge in Bloomington. Will stay again next time we're in the area!
Fun Stay with Young Kids

My family recently spent 1 night at Great Wolf Lodge over Fourth of July weekend. We had 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 3, 1 & 1). We got the bunk bed suite. I thought check in was easy and pretty fast. Our room was ready early which worked out great. Since 2 of our kids don't walk yet, I was very worried about how clean the rooms would be. Thank goodness the rooms seemed very clean and the carpet looked good so I was fine with them crawling on the floor. We brought our own play n plays, so not sure if that is something that's typically offered. There were black out curtains, the sofa was comfortable, there is a little table with 2 chairs, a microwave, small fridge and the sink is outside the bathroom. The bunk beds were super cute and my daughter really liked sleeping in it. The bathroom was pretty small with no hooks that I could see to hang all of our wet swimsuits. Not a huge deal though.
My only real issue was timing of activities. It's great to be able to use the waterpark before check in and use it basically the whole day you check out, but with our little kids, they wake up REALLY early. To avoid them all being loud in our rooms, potentially waking up our neighbors, we wanted to get out of the room. The earliest thing open was Dunkin Donuts at 7 am. There is nowhere really to sit in the main areas besides the floor where they do the kids activities. The waterpark opened at 10 am, the arcade, bowling, and mining, etc was all at 9 am or later. This really left us super bored for a few hours. Everything that opens before the water park also costs extra and I didn't do my homework to realize that ahead of time. (We aren't used to traveling with 3 kids! ha)
Overall, I would stay here again, but I think it's more of a 1-2 night kind of place.
Great place with kids!

We were going to stay elsewhere and spend the evening swimming, but it turned out the Great Wolf stay was about the same price. Was great for an evening of swimming with little kids. We’ve been there before and we really like that there are so many slides that young kids can go down. There’s a pair of slides that take innertubes, a couple body slides, and a bigger raft- like ride, but that last one was closed. The lazy river is so big and the kids’ play structure In the middle is really fun, particularly because it is situated in a shallow pool so the little kids can kind of swim around in there, too, and there are several slides off of it. It’s fun that the wave pool is connected to the lazy river (unless you’re being truly lazy, at which point you probably wouldn’t appreciate needing to wake up in the wave pool to make sure you stay on course in the river!). The wakeboarding is fun for the more adventurous types.
Problems (which are minor):
—waiting for a tube to go down the tube slides. People come off the slide and then just keep their tube to go again, while you stand there with your kid watching them, waiting for someone to decide to be done so you can actually use the waterslide during your 3 hour window of time in the waterpark.
— check in was confusing- you can check in online, but then what do you do? Are you really checked in? Do you just wait in the parking lot continuously refreshing your email to see that your room is ready? Just go inside and check in.
- they have covid protocols, but they weren’t making the kids actually wear masks. So if you’re worried about only going places where everyone is masked and standing 6 feet apart, don’t go to great Wolf lodge. At least they tried by having policies in the first place.
- I wish there was a map explaining the waterslides. A lot of people get to the top without a tube who needed one, or with a tube who didn’t need one. I always get confused about which slides are where. They also need to make it more clear which waterslides are closed when. Seriously. Simple signage- closed for bad weather, closed for the day, this one is closed but that one is open, etc. Nice to know before you get out and climb up stairs!!
—we couldn’t understand the guy reading the story. Too much ambient noise and garbled sound from the sound system.
The rooms feel updated. We were very comfortable with our family of 6 with the 1 set of bunk beds, queen bed, and pullout couch. The cabin room is fun (2 sets of bunk beds in their own little room), but we didn’t need to spend all that extra money this time. (Although the fight over the top bunk, wish we could have avoided that one!)
Great Wolf is super fun. I definitely recommend it.
Big slide not available

We booked this hotel because we’ve stayed here in the past and loved the water slides, especially the big slide. Unfortunately they are not running the big slide because not enough staff, and the central customer service said I had to talk to the front desk. Very disappointed and would not recommend currently booking this hotel.
