Gone down hill
We had 2 weeks at the Asarlik this month. We have been there 3 times now but won't be back again. For a start at breakfast there was no one there to serve you till after 8 o'clock even though it opens at 7, so everyone was touching the fruit and bread etc and only one way in and the same way out. By the time you managed to get food it was cold. At night was just as bad so we ate out nearly every night just for some hot meals. Don't know why we paid for all inclusive because we certainly didn't get our moneys worth and when we complained to Jet2 all we got back was the standard email apology reply, rubbish. The local spirits are a joke you could drink till the cows come home and still not be merry. The whisky label says..( whisky flavoured vodka).. the staff are great but the hotel appears to be catering more towards the Eastern block countries. Save yourself some money and get a nice b and b hotel and eat out, its cheap enough.
Very disappointed with this hotel. Firstly this hotel is nothing like advertised.I know there is a panic on at the moment and you would be expected to be notified of any important changes for example all 4 ala carte restaurants were closed and no alternative was offered. The food in the main rooftop restaurant was dreadful, very poor choice and was always cold.Lunch and dinner was served by hand from the staff onto your plate and I mean literally by hand with rubber gloves on .NO UTENSILS were used. This was a normal thing at all salad bars and the burger bar which was very off putting (they said because of covid) but at breakfast and midnight snacks guests were allowed to handle any food themselves as there was not enough staff available. There was so much wrong with this hotel and they blamed covid for everything. We paid full price and only got a quarter of the services which were offered and even they were terrible. We would never return to this hotel, not even in normal circumstances .
Stayed here sept/oct. Good points 1st:- Hotel clean Most staff very friendly Great location Lovely swimming pools with plenty of sunbeds and free towels. Snack food. Hot pizza, burgers etc , fresh fruit and choice of ice creams and waffles. Bar service good with friendly staff. Not so good points:- Not all staff were wearing face masks which I found strange under the circumstances. Pool area not so tidy. Little white tables between sunbeds disgustingly dirty never cleans ,had to wipe down ourselves before putting anything on it. Bar/ restaurant manager not so friendly. Food , well what can I say but awful, cold, sometimes not edible. Do not cater for the English . Breakfast choice, omlettes , cold boil eggs, cold baked beans, cheese and salad!.sometimes they had some kind of sausage. ( I know they don't serve bacon, but what about fried eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes . Evening meal, again cold. Cold soup cold fries, only thing warm was pizza. Stews etc cold not edible. We ate out for breakfast/evening meal for our 2nd week of our holiday. Would I go again. Yes if they improve the food situation.
We have just returned home after spending 10 nights at the Royal Asarlik Beach Hotel.Having been on 4 previous occasions we knew what to expect, although under the circumstances we understood things might be a little different this year. Things didn’t get off to a perfect start. We had booked a sea view room for 3 adults I even emailed the hotel a few days prior to arrival to check details. We were taken to our room, and were shocked to see just 1 double bed! The room was so small if we added a camp bed we would literally have to climb over each other to get out of bed. This is not acceptable and really does need addressing. We were given a room on floor 1 but with no sea view for the night. The next morning İsmail on reception gave us a room on floor 2 with enough space for the 3 of us . After this we went on to have a wonderful holiday. Every member of staff went out of their way to look after us and keep us safe. We had temperature checks and were provided with face masks before entering the restaurant.Yes the food choices weren’t as varied as usual, and none of the a la carte restaurants were open , but we didn’t go hungry. Always plenty of salad, cheese ,cold meats available plus soup, pizza, pasta, chips grilled meat and various other dishes,a large variety of deserts and fresh fruit all being served out by staff members. We had lunch in the relax pool snack bar, where they were grilling beef burgers making pizzas etc. Then we moved on to the patisserie for ice cream and home made waffles. Really must give a mention to Ibrahim,Ahmed ,and the other waiter( sorry didn’t catch your name)on the roof top restaurant and also Ogun from the pool side and lobby bar.You really did help to make our holiday special, thank you! We met some lovely people (plus a few moaners please ignore their reviews they expected a 5 star hotel for the 3.5 star price, don’t think they understood we are in the middle of a pandemic) had wonderful weather and were well looked after by every member of your team. Keep safe everyone and hope to see you soon.xxx
I would definetely recommend this hotel. Location is excellent, sandy beach with sunbeds is close to hotel. There's also a nice pool area. Hotel staff is beyond friendly and helpful, they were all so kind, I was impressed with Turkish hospitality. Room was nice and clean. The only thing I was expecting to be better was food, there was not so many options and the food (especially breakfast) was usually not warm. Bodrum is easy and fast to reach. All in all, I had nice, relaxing holiday and would come back again.
