We booked this hotel for the Luke Combs concert. Every hotel was booked and they tripled their nightly rate for the date. That was bad enough, charging 5Star rates , for a cheap hotel. When we checked in we were told the hotel was completely non-smoking. As soon as we walked in the room we knew it was a smoking room from the smell. The bathtub had a hole in the side that had been patched and the bar in the shower had a hole all around the bar on one end. We were advised by the front desk that our best option was to take the bus to the concert, which we did. But there was no bus after the concert, no Uber available and the three taxi companies were all not answering their phones. We and a lot of other guest were required to walk back on the side of a busy highway with no sidewalk for a good portion of it. The gentleman at the front desk just shrugged his shoulders and said it wasn’t his fault the bus didn’t run. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
Low Price; Good Stay

We typically stay at a large and relatively expensive chain but decided to try something at the lower price end this trip. Our only real hard and fast requirement is it's clean and has inside hallway access and a king bed.
There was nothing wrong with the room that reduced the quality of our stay and the current construction was not intrusive. Room and bathroom were clean, but the bathroom vent was not working. The bed was comfortable. The single cup coffee maker used coffee packets that turned out a pretty weak cup; I recommend the coffee in the lobby. Also, in the lobby, hot chocolate packets are available for the asking. The room was on the top floor and quiet even considering it faced the front street, but we never travel without our white noise generator, just in case. Next time I'd ask for a rear facing room.
The continental breakfast was adequate with coffee, juice, milks, toaster waffles and pastries, fruit cups, cereals, yogurts, and other items. Definitely try the individually wrapped toaster waffles with the sugar free syrup. I would like to see a hot breakfast buffet and I'd pay more bucks a day for it but failing that, some frozen breakfast burritos/wraps with eggs, ham, etc. would be nice.
All the staff we came in contact with were super helpful and friendly. I would stay here anytime.
Clean, quiet, consistently nice stay

A word about "consistently" in the title: My wife and I have stayed at the Super 8 in Boone for several years, since our son attended and graduated from App State. It's been at least five years since our last stay (son moved on in life and we didn't have as many excuses to visit the NC mountains). When it came time to visit the Boone area again, I didn't hesitate to book a room here. To those who are expecting a 5-star stay at bargain prices: that ain't gonna happen. This is a budget-friendly family oriented hotel that promises you a clean room, comfortable bed and a quiet and safe stay. That's it. And that's what we experienced again in our recent visit. Yes, it's an older facility but I noticed they have recently done some upgrades, such as newly painted hallways and new carpeting. I also liked the way our room was renovated. It looked exactly the way it was presented on the photos from the website, a rare thing. Beds were very firm and comfortable, lots of pillows, AC worked fine, and we slept soundly. Any cons? Sure, but they're pretty minor. The bathroom sink had a hairline crack (remember this is an older facility). The shower curtain wasn't really designed to be used for that shower rod, I had to keep fiddling with it so it could be useable. The traditional breakfast buffet was closed. The clerk explained they were doing some repairs there. That's okay, I wasn't expecting the buffet anyway during these Covid times. (That's the only reason I didn't give our stay an "excellent" rating.) Staff was courteous and professional. Super 8 in Boone will remain our "go-to" hotel to stay whenever we visit the area.

Where do I begin? First off right off the bat I found chip crumbs all over the noghtstand. Next the room door would not shut properly. The carpet was moist with bare patches and stains on it, We wore sandals or socks at all times while in the room due to this fact. Next the shower did not work properly. The fourth story window in our room was unsecured and you could open it up and have access freely to the outside, no screen. There was cigarette burns on the windowsill. The ceiling tiles were cracking and gaps could be seen leading into whatever was behind. Stains on the bedsheets. The ice machine on the floor had a sign saying out of order and one of the elevators said the same. The odd mix of strangers hanging outside the back of the building seemed very odd. Many were just lounging in their cars or walking the parking lot half dressed. Very shady. Anyhow I tried to find another place after first night but their were no vacancys at any of the other hotels so I stayed one more night. Really suprising this hotel had so many issues. Did not feel clean or safe.
Plenty of pictures of the issues I stated but it will not let me add them due to them being too large in size.
VERY NICE SPOT

It would have been nice to have a better breakfast setup. The prices for the weekend were 'gouged' (as it was everywhere else, actually. I paid for weekend what I would normally pay for a whole WEEK. The facility was GREAT, and CLEAN. the construction was a bit, well...but understandable. EVERYONE WAS SOOOOO NICE THOUGH...we WILL be back!
