Potential to be an excellent place

When people book a reservation and select a specific room, there is a reason for it. In this case we had stayed in the Garden room during our first visit and for multiple reasons we decided to book it again for our second stay. One was mostly because it met the needs of my disabled daughter who is in a wheelchair. So I get an email the day before our second visit stating updated reservation confirmation and I noticed we now had a single king deluxe. No phone call from hotel, just that notice. So how do they know this change would meet our needs. It was also in a two story bldg with no elevator so again, they didn't even call to make sure the change was okay. So I called them to find out what the heck was going on and why they changed us without asking us first. They gave some excuse and I had to make sure it was on the first floor but Paul said it wasn't an ADA room. He kept telling me it was an upgrade and much nicer, etc etc, etc. So I agreed and was like we will try it. I hope they never put us in that type of room again. It definitely was not an upgrade for us. We couldn't even use the patio because my daughter couldn't get through the door to the patio and plus there were stairs. So we couldn't even enter the pool area if we wanted to from our room. It was definitely not an upgrade the way it would be for others. I wish people would stop comparing us to others because everyone is unique from one another. And they really need to check with their guests before moving them to a whole different type of room before doing so to make sure their needs/reason for booking one type will be met. There were so many issues with the deluxe king room for someone that is disabled and in wheelchair! In general it was a nice room. For my daughter it was very difficult for her to watch TV because it was far from the bed. The a/c didn't work well in the room so the nights were hot making it difficult to sleep unlike the Garden room where it worked great. We love the pools and going during the week when there is hardly anyone there. Its very difficult to order and pick up food from the restaurant as there is hardly anyone around to help you. Even with the limited staff that is there, its hard to get anyones attention to place an order whether in person or on the phone and then its difficult to get anyone to help you when you pickup your order. Very frustrating especially when my daughter has to wait for me outside in the heat. Great resort otherwise, with lots to do.

I am outraged by the blatant racism that is tolerated at this establishment and my kids were the victims! While in the pool they were physically threatened and verbally assaulted with nasty, mean racist slurs by an intoxicated guest. Security of all guests should be a top priority, but not here. I was initially assured the guest would be removed and never allowed to come back, but was later told that she asked to stay on another night and her request was granted by the manager (as long as she agreed to move rooms)! I was then told that I should have called the Sheriff instead of relying on resort security. I demonstrated a lot of self-control by not going after this woman myself and believed that this behavior would not be tolerated and swift action would ensue. I was so wrong!!!! The manager, Curly Williams needs to be removed or should have to attend extensive training on how to deal with racial injustices. After the initial incident, I encountered the woman twice more since she was allowed to stay and use the resort's facilities. It is outrageous that this behavior was tolerated. Needless to say, we left the resort and will never return. Curly agreed to compensate us for our stay, which I appreciate, but his complicit behavior is a sure sign that he does not condemn racism, hate speech and this ultimately means that if you find yourself in need of protection or security from an unruly, drunk guest, you will not find it here! It sickens me that we live in a world where our kids can be threatened with so much hate and it's tolerated. Other guests assured me that the place is definitely not what it used to be! How sad. Think twice before you stay here!
A great get away.

The service was very friendly & helpful. The location was remote & quiet. Great value for the money. Grandma & Grandpa gave the parents of our granddaughters a well deserved break & we loved showing the girls around. The heat you just live with & try to understand.
Great Desert Getaway

Terrific place to go even when it's very hot. The grounds are well kept and the staff is friendly. Plenty of quiet, serene moments. There were many pools to choose from and the gazebos were so cute. We ordered a mini-fridge for the room for $25 and it worked great. Nicely upgraded bathroom with a wonderful shower and bath.
