We have stayed at this hotel before, we visited on the day it re opened after lockdown for 5 nights.
The hotel is in a lovely position between Bowness and Windermere and has a car park which you can always get a space in ( a big bonus in the Lakes).
We had a standard room facing the road, as it was warm we had the windows open all the time and the road is noisy. I would advise if you don’t want this get a lake view room as these are at the back of the hotel.
The room was clean, the rooms have been re decorated but do have old furniture and the bathrooms have not been changed.
We had plenty of storage space for 2 of us and the room was clean, I am glad they are back to cleaning the rooms each day.
The staff were all friendly you had to book a time for breakfast, and it is now served to you rather than the buffet they used to offer which is a shame I hope the buffet will return. We also had evening meal in the restaurant a few times and the food is lovely.
My only negative is for some reason they don’t like to give you normal tea bags with the drinks selection if you like fruit teas they are stocked but I had to ask at reception and leave the cleaners a note just to get some ordinary ones ( bit of a pain when they happily re stocked the cookies each day)
This hotel is good value for money, the lakes is expensive, and we have not found another hotel for the same price which is better than this for location, car parking and food quality.
Great hotel and friendly staff

We stayed here for a long weekend and were very happy with the location-only around a 10 minute walk down to the lake.
The bedroom was nicely decorated although the bathroom was a little dated (the complementary products were a nice touch though). The mattress was quite soft and maybe could do with being replaced.
Staff were very welcoming. Special shout of to the Bar Manager Valerie who was very nice to chat to and went out of her way to provide residents a place to watch the England Quarter Finals for the Euros. Great idea and would recommend putting a TV/projector in for more big sporting events.

We stayed here for 2 nights (mid week in June), I asked for balloons to be in room on arrival and they were, very friendly receptionist on arrival and on checking out. We stayed in The Lord of the Manor Room, which was beautifully decorated, but it was quiet a dark room, we had a view of the lake (not a massive view but we could see it). We booked into the restaurant the first night and altho the food and waiter service were good, the decor is very tired, esp when they have updated their rooms, the common areas definietly need to be updated to keep in line with the rooms. Perfect location, large car park. Would definetly recommend.
