Coldest Italian welcome on record
Good: Pool, dinner, one very charming and attentive waiter in the restaurant, without whom we would have given 2 points rather than 3. Average: Room (hot), sauna (cold), location (main road), shuttle bus (less than willing) Poor: Apart from the aforementioned waiter the staff seemed jaded and disinterested, with little sense of service; the tired, unsmiling faces of people who really don't enjoy what they are doing. Like many inherited hotels in popular locations, they probably don't have to be friendly and welcoming as people just keep coming - not us, though.
Stayed here with some friends in July. The rooms were adequate, maybe old fashioned but a great location. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool and sauna are great amenities. But what stood out was the food. Dinner here was outstanding. We ordered different things to share and couldn't fault any of it. The chef is amazing. The cheeses taste so much better in the mountains! And the millefeuille an unexpected but welcome surprise
Hotel needs modernisation and staff could try much harder
Located a couple of km from Cervinia centre, but the hotel's shuttle bus gets you too and from the slopes very satisfactorily. Hotel is chalet style and has some nice features: comfortable reception rooms; log fire; ski gear room with boot warmers; a bar with a range of beers; perfectly adequate breakfast (fruits, yoghurt, rather cheap cereal, seeds, dry-as-dust breads, toaster, coffee machine and a very good egg boiler so you can avoid the usual rock-hard boiled egg). However, the bedrooms are small, very old-fashioned and basic. Hard, sprung mattress, dingy carpet, pine wardrobes. Very 1970s and in urgent need of an upgrade. Bath had plenty of hot water, Staff looked as though they had worked at the hotel far too long and were tired of serving clients with a smile. Service was acceptable but not the usual friendly and welcoming touch one expects in Italy. For a hotel charging £200 per night towards the end of the high season, management should be giving better value than this
The staff here were so friendly and accommodating. Their shuttle bus service was great, very regular until 6pm to for skiing which took about 5 minutes to get to and were happy to bring us into the village after this for a small fee. Sauna and pool were better than expected and lovely after a day skiing The breakfast was delicious, cereals, yoghurt, breads ham and cheese and plenty of sweet things. They have a very nice bar with great selection of drinks and a lovely bar man, we really enjoyed some relaxed drinks in front of the fire. Would reccomend!
Nice hotell with Good service
We stayed at hotell for 3 nights. Clean room, good service. Shuttlebus to ski area was perfect. Breakfast was OK. The room was very warm. Bed was a bit hard. The owner has offered us a dinner: 25 euros per person for 4 meals ...Good real we thought. It turned out that we were suppose to eat it every evening. We didnt know about it and insisted that he informed us about it the first dag. Misunderstanding i Hope!
