More about the hotel
Booked and cancelled within one day, no restitution
During the corona crisis my husband and I got stuck on our honeymoon in Argentina. We made it back to Buenos Aires to get a flight home. Because our original hotel in Buenos Aires had closed, our travel agent booked us into Casa Calma at the last minute, the day before our arrival and the lockdown would come into effect. We arrived late at night. Beautiful room, nothing wrong in that department. However, within the hour they called up to our room to tell us we had to leave, in a most unfriendly manner. Also, this was approx 11 pm. So we had to find another hotel before midnight (the impending lockdown). Fortunately we managed this. But I find it utterly disgraceful that Casa Calma is now hanging on to our money, when they kicked us out - and we never got to stay there. I realise the circumstances are harsh, but to leave your guests hanging like this is just not acceptable. Will definately not come again and don't recommend.
Beautiful and comfortable
I stayed in Casa Calma (Buenos Aires) last New Year's Eve (2019/2020) with my boyfriend and we loved it! The hotel staff was amazing, very helpful and solicitous. Also they gave us a lot of tips of what to do in Buenos Aires. Our room was beautiful and very clean. The only thing we would like to point out is that the accomodation is not "brand new". The television was outdated and the curtain of the bathroom window fell when we were there. We would definitely return there!
Great service
I've never had better service than at the Casa Calma Hotel. The staff went out of their way to help me - including recommending restaurants, a place to purchase electrical converter, arranging transportation, and suggesting tours.
Modern rooms, staff amazingly helpful
We arrived the day before the corona virus shutdown of the BA airport. We were only able to stay one partial night but the room was nice and modern. The amazing thing, however, was the front desk staff. English speaking Sofia and Camila notified us of the coming airport shutdown and spent considerable time helping us arrange flight changes to get back home, in the midst of a growing chaos of cancellations and guests trying to get home. Without their help we could have been stranded for weeks. Their above-and-beyond help gives us extra incentive to try to return one day to try their list of recommended restaurants and tango shows.
great escape
I tried to book this hotel for more nights but the availability was not there. I only was able to grab 2 nights and I am so glad that I did. The service at this hotel is top notch. We did not have a single issue that was not immediately resolved. I don't know where to start. The wi-fi was great! We got the breakfast included option which also includes room service. Breakfast was similar to what you could order with room service on a cruise. You fill out a form and leave it on the door and they come pick it up and deliver breakfast at your designated time. It was hot and delicious. There was all of the amenities that you could ever need. Very large space for storage of your things. Safe was easy to use. The front desk staff took us to the room and showed us how to operate everything. One thing that was a plus here was that the air conditioner actually was adjustable to where the room was cold which helps. They showed us how to change the TV to English and how to adjust the air and operate the hot tub. The water was hot. Solana at the front desk spoke great English and was super helpful. If you can book this hotel you will not regret it.
