Dreams Vista Cancun Resort & Spa

First, special mention to the wonderful staff. The service is always top notch at these resorts! We’d like to point out the service of Carlos, Hector, and Ivan in the preferred club; and Juan and Irving in the world buffet. The only reason I didn’t give a five is that the beach is a little small and rocky, but it’s OK. The main pool is beautiful and big. The activities pool and kids area seems to be in the shade in the afternoon so it can get chilly. All the food was great, we enjoyed the Italian Portofino 3x and the rooftop Bluewater twice. The resort is within walking distance to the ferry at Puerto Juarez, which is a $21US per person round-trip to go over to Isla Mujeres, and we did that two days, just for something different and to visit the beautiful north beach. Wonderful 7-day vacation in January in the beautiful Cancun weather is always a great time!

We arrived at the Dreams Vista for the 2nd time. The rooms are very large with comfortable beds, pillows and covers. The bathrooms are separate toilet and shower rooms with the double sink between them. All rooms are oceanview with a nice balcony. The restaurants were open on a rotation due to lower occupany and covid. Hats off to the following staff members for their great customer service - buffet - lydia and her team- Dana, Juna Mercado, pool concierge Sahid, pool server Erica and Barracuda bartender Eduardo and restaurant servers Oscar and Educardo. Food was very good, always a variety in the buffet and the restaurant menu's had a great variety of menu items. The beach is narrow and small but the pool is amazing. For the kids the water park area is fun and the new attraction the Surf pools. The gentleman who works the surf pool is amazing and helped me get on my board, helped me ride the waves and returned me back to the side without falling. This resort is about 20 minutes from the airport and near a mall that offers a boat shuttle to and from the mall from the resort. Talk to the water beach activities guy and he will take you for free (need to give him a tip please) a catamaran ride, it was beautiful. Great entertainment staff - berenice, erik, henry, jessica and kotska who kept us going during the day with activities and at night with the evening shows.

We stayed with a party of 19 total people Jan 12-19. Ages from 2-77. This is what we found: ROOMS: on the smaller side for 2 adults and 2 kids. Very nicely appointed, but we did need to ask for the Preferred beach bag, slippers and a few other toiletries along the way, which they delivered promptly. All rooms have a stunning view, thus the name Vista. We stayed on the south end, room 1521A. We wanted to pay to upgrade to a Master Suite or a Corner Suite, but the availability wasn't there with less than 50% capacity?? If you wish to stay in an upgrade, I suggest you do so prior to arrival. PROPERTY: Stunning. Immaculate. The Preferred Rooftop pool offers unparalleled views and a wonderful heated pool. Maria at the rooftop always looked after us and we never had an issue getting chairs in the pool and she saved us spots under the palapa for shade as well. The main pool is on the chilly side and only once did we have an issue with slow service due to number of guests that day. All servers were very good, as we've come to expect from AM Resorts. I hope this is an indication of how they treat their employees. Jose was a great poolside server and Sahid I assume is the pool and beach concierge. He made sure we always had chairs together and even made a reservation for us for dinner offsite one night so that we didn't have to worry about it. PREFERRED CLUB: worth it at this property for access to the rooftop. And Carlos in the Club. He is an amazing host/waiter/bartender. Due to Covid, he had to serve us the warm food, but it was a non issue. He was always busy, but we never felt neglected. He seems to clearly love his job and he's very good at it. Ask for the passion fruit Ojo Rojo - he suggested it when he saw I was drinking the normal done routinely! BARRACUDA BAR (Beach) - Eduardo was so kind and efficient! He always welcomed us every day and we never went without. They put on the KC Chiefs playoff game down there so that we were able to watch the game beachside. A truly nice experience! The kids got a kick out of ordering 'kid shots' from Eduardo - Sprite and different color simple syrups. WORLD CAFE (Buffet) - A very nice selection and Lidia takes very special care of all of her guests. She was sad to see all of the kids leave on our last day and I think got a little bleary eyed. Great service and caring make all the difference when it comes to staff. We did miss the option of not having buffet for dinner. I believe this to be due to Covid. All in all, this is a very nice property. We were slated to stay here for the past 3 years and it was delayed in construction and then due to the hurricanes. It was worth the wait. One of my top favorites in the AM brand family. The beach was pretty, the views of Cancun and Isla Mujeres stunning, the service fantastic and the food was very good. They even allowed our fishing charter to use the dock to pick us up directly and not have to take a cab. I would recommend they adopt the app that allows free calling and text to and from the US. We use a regional cell phone provider so we did not have service down there except for wifi. I do wish the surf pools were open longer for the teenagers, and that the activities weren't as rigid on times. There are times the kids just wanted a ball to play volleyball or the bocce balls left out to play whenever. But the entertainment staff was accomodating and very friendly, especially with the kids. Shout out to Erik and Jessica especially in that regard! Teen club was a blast for the kids, but due to schedule, was only able to use the VR once. We may return, but enjoy seeing different AM resorts.

We just returned from a week stay at Dreams Vista Cancun. We traveled with a large group of family and friends. We had a surprise birthday party for 5 of the people in our group. Luis at the Barracuda Bar and Sahid went above and beyond to make it special for them!!. Even had a cake made and got the whole rooftop crew to join in on the party. Sahid always made sure to have our chairs/towels ready for us at the beach and we really enjoyed spending time with him and Luis!! Jose and Adel did a great job making sure that we had everything we needed all day long. I was kind of a bummer that the buffet wasn't open at night but we made the best of it. The food was great! We are people that enjoy activity and Erik, Jessica did their best to try get things going. I feel that the activity pool is a waste as it is always in the shade and so cold on that side of the building. Overall...great vacation.

Had a lovely week here with a large group of friends. Everyone was super friendly and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. We spent most of our time on the beautiful beach where SAHID went out of his way everyday to make us feel special. I would see him from my balcony every morning setting up our beach chairs in a nice little circle for all of us (14 people) to hang out. There were 5 of us celebrating our '50' birthday's and Sahid arranged a wonderful little party for us with birthday cake and all. A truly kind and caring person is what he is. The beach bar was great JOSE TUZ and LUIS JIMENEZ served us amazing drinks right to our beach chairs. We enjoyed great entertainment such a an electronic bull and zip lining over the ocean right from our beach. The food was great, we especially enjoyed the rooftop restaurant and loved that we could order room service 24/7. Nightly entertainment was also really nice and saw some great shows, especially liked the international dancers and break-dancers.
