More about the hotel
Great atmosphere - great price - needs a bit of TLC
We stayed here 2 years ago and it was fabulous - it appears that it has not been maintained since. Its seen better days. That said, the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, it was clean and the location is great. Close to bus station and some really cheap restaurants. The air con worked well. TV had loads of cable channels. The water was never hot - just luke warm. WiFi is free in the reception and around the pool - not in the rooms. For the price I would stay here again.
Worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel
I booked this hotel with booking.com and the confirmed the would pick me up from the airport when I landed. I arrived at 2am so tired and there was nobody there to pick me up. When I called they said “they don’t do pick ups” even though they confirmed by email. They then proceeded to tell me they are full and have no room for me even though I had a room already booked weeks in advance. They did not even apologise and were so unhelpful. Do not stay here! So rude and unprofessional and unreliable. Never had a worse experience.
Cockroaches
If you're ok with cockroaches then it's adequate. Beds are adequate. Tv worked but in black and white and slightly fuzzy. Ac worked well. Old fashioned simple keyed knob lock. No elevator. Free breakfast, 2 slices of toast and ham. Horrible coffee, no cream, watered down orange juice from frozen concentrate. Kids were given nothing. They told us kids were $3 US each. FYI that will get you full meal at most street/plaza vendors. As in 2 full meals for $6. Pro: cold water in lobby as is internet. Cons: everything else except adequate bed. Actually front desk staff were kind and tried to help as best they could. Recommendation: do not come here with kids, hostels are better for beds and wifi, would never come back.
Very Comfortable and Clean
I got this room from Trip Advisor which led me to book it through Snap Travel. Snap Travel messaged me on Facebook to book the room. I had never used Snap Travel before. Upon arriving at Hacienda Hotel, my boyfriend and I thought the hotel was very quaint and colorful. The hotel had bright orange walls and huge indoor plants reaching the ceiling. The lobby was air conditioned. We noticed that there was a long wait to check in and several people were waiting in front of us. The front desk had two staff members but only one of them seemed to know what he was doing. After about thirty minutes we finally got to the front desk and they told us they couldn't find our reservation. We showed our email confirmation and the booking number but they still couldn't find it. We were put to the side while they tried to find it and simultaneously help other hotel goers. I was feeling sick from scuba diving and waited on a long couch with a coffee table full of books. It took almost 2 hours to be able to go to our room and by then they still hadn't found our reservation. We gave a deposit for the room just so I could lay down. We did feel bad for the guy behind the desk. At that point, his friend who didn't really know what to do had left and it was just him. His manager was yelling at him to find our reservation. He eventually found our reservation hours later and we got the deposit back. Despite the extremely long and chaotic check-in process, the room was comfortable and air-conditioned. We stayed in Mexico for 16 days and this hotel had by far the most comfortable bed we slept it. You sank into the mattress and the pillows were fluffy. The shower had hot water and good water pressure. We only stayed one night so we did not get a good look at the rest of the hotel or pool, but we did manage to look at the pool quickly before going to dinner at a delicious Indian restaurant next door. The backyard was set up like an oasis with a pool in the middle, shaded by trees. Overall, it was a comfortable stay albeit the check-in process was a long and drawn out process.
Clean, simple if you are not going to be there all day
Didn't see anything about air conditioning in the room, since we weren´t going to be there all day anyway, I was surprised it DID have one worked fine no issues...TV only had about 5 channels...a good light breakfast included...bad thing at the end of the stay the cleaning girl lost my towels (3 days before) so I was charged even though the timeline didn't match up. The wifi was in the lobby and pool, signal was not so good up on the second floor
