Week stay. Arrived on the first day with my room ( Room 6, Single bed) well furnished and clean, with kettle, cups, TV and remote, Lamp, table, chair (fake leather so it was peeling, more on that later) and storage (Chest of Drawers, Wardrobe, etc), but didn't have a fan in the room (I've had a fan when I sleep since I was about 5, so can rarely sleep without one). I walked down to reception and asked for one and they said they'd have one up to me in no time. So I return to my room and 5 minutes later I have a knock on the door and one of the cooks delivers a large fan, explaining that this was the fan from the kitchen as the desk fans were in the attic. So they gave up their own fan to provide for me! Furthermore, I was too shy to mention the peeling fake leather chair, but when I returned to my room after a trip to Monifieth, the chair had a comfortable cover over it to prevent the peeling fake leather getting everywhere and becoming a nuisance! Also, the hotel staff do not mind you rearranging the furniture in your room so long as you return it when your stay ends (I had my laptop set up on the table). The only thing I would say that was negative is that the table was rather small (although I didn't ask for a larger one) and there was no Shower wash or Toothbrush/toothpaste was provided, but there is a Co-op opposite the hotel that opens from 7am to 10pm where you can pick up all your amenities from. I did not have the breakfast myself, but the smells coming from the kitchen were divine!! Overall, this was the best hotel experience I've ever had and I will certainly be returning!

Well! How do I even begin?
Carol and her team made the whole visit (2nights) unbelievably surreal. The personal touches and attentive nature of all the staff is top notch. This is our 2nd stay here and we're looking to go back on the next leave week. I honestly do not know how to put into words just how we felt staying there... the locals in the bar also made us feel welcome as always... this is a hidden gem.
The rooms are modern and immaculate. The bed was so comfortable I thought I slept on a cloud!
The food is out of this world, freshly caught and made to any dietary requirements also beautifully presented and soooooooo TASTY. The staff place emphasis on Covid restrictions and hygiene, which as someone with the good old touch of OCD, deeply appreciate. We stayed at the "big hotel" on our first trip to Carnoustie and I'm sorry to say but the service and everything surrounding what people look for in a stay away from home was ZILCH compared to what we have experienced at the Corner House.
I CAN'T PRAISE THE CORNER HOTEL ENOUGH. AS IT STANDS I HAVE NOT COVERED EVERYTHING BUT FOR ANYONE READING THIS 20 OUT OF 10 FROM US!!!
Thanks again to all the staff and locals for making our annual leave week amazing.
If you need a hotel in Carnoustie, this is the place to stay!

Where do I start? Oyo corner hotel is a great wee hotel in the centre of Carnoustie. I was greeted by the lovely sammy who was very welcoming and helpful. She accommodated my needs amazingly and nothing was too much bother. We didn’t have to wait long before we were taken to our rooms. The room was very clean and a had all the necessary amenities. The hotel are very COVID 19 conscious and I felt very safe during my stay. In all the hotels I’ve been in, the service at the corner hotel was second to none! The restaurant food is another great experience. Food very delicious with a chef Helen who clearly loves her craft. Thank you for a great stay.

Great Base and Great Host

We (couple plus Mum) stayed for 5 nights. This was a great base and our wonderful host made several excellent recommendations for day trips to include seeing seals in Montrose, walking round Glen Cova, visiting St Andrews and the pretty fishing villages in the East Neuk. Dundee and the new V&A are just a few miles away. We ate breakfast and dinner in every evening - huge portions of deliciously cooked food (half portions are still substantial enough if you have enjoyed some of the local baking during the day). Super friendly staff, and very mindful of the current restrictions helped to give us a very comfortable and safe stay.
