INCREDIBLY RUDE AND INCOMPETENT MANGER
the manager is beyond rude. i have several friends from work who refuse to stay here and one who only does so when he has no other choice for the same reason. she is also whole heartedly incompetent. she racked up over TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS in unnecessary bank drafts on my debit card costing me 150 in authorization fees (i had money in savings so my bank honored them). when i asked her about it she laughed and blamed it on a banking error. i am filing a civil suite against this sea hag for my 150 bucks PLUS about 10 hours of my time at this point. we will see how hard this dog faced sea hag laughs when she gets my subpoena!
Rude Front Desk Staff with no Masks!
In other days, I would have rated this hotel much higher. Our room was comfortable and appeared clean. There were some minor annoyances (for example, 2 sheets of TV channels in the book, neither of which matched the channels on the actual TV). However, the biggest issue was the poor service we received at the front desk and, in this pandemic time, the concerns their behavior raised about the cleanliness of the hotel overall. When we entered to check in, the desk clerk was wearing a mask around his neck. I pointed out that he needed to wear it. He did not respond or put his mask on. In fact he said nothing to me at all. He did not point out the direction of our room, or tell me about the time of breakfast or how to access the WiFi. He did not say "thank you" or "have a nice evening." In the morning when we checked out, there was a woman at the desk. I asked if she was the manager and she said she was. I told her that the clerk the night before wasn't wearing a mask, and noted that she too was wearing her mask below her nose, and that this wasn't acceptable. She said "do you want a receipt?" and handed it to me and said nothing else. How can anyone have confidence that the hotel is being cleaned as it must be during a pandemic, when key staff including a manager do not follow the most basic protective measure: wearing a mask. It's unacceptable.
horrendous
First of all at check in neither one of the staff had a mask on nor was there a protective partition on the counter. 2nd there were people in the lobby sitting with no mask on. 3rd there was a gentleman right outside the front door with his dog smoking a cigar. Last but not least the television guide key hasn't been programmed to function but I was informed that I just need to flip thru the channels. All this was the first .3 hours. Never again will I stay here.
Great property
We needed a hotel near Raleigh for good nights’ sleep while driving cross country and found this place. Honestly wish we could have stayed longer just because the hotel was so nice. Front desk staff was gracious, pre-packaged food available for breakfast during pandemic (many hotels just put out nothing so it was nice that this one put out some basics that still felt safe since they were packaged), rooms were well appointed and felt brand new. The whole hotel had a “just built” appearance so I asked the desk how long they’d been open, assuming they would tell me just a few months. In actuality, they told me they’d been open a few years. What a testament to the cleaning staff and ownership group that they are maintaining this road-side hotel so well.
Clean and quiet
We were there on 3/14 and 3/15/2020 and found the room to be clean and quiet And the staff very helpful and accommodating. This hotel offers hot breakfast and this is one of our criteria when picking a hotel. The first morning we had a great hot breakfast and were able to choose between eggs, waffles or cereal. Also available were fruit,pastries and bagels along with a car of juices, coffee or hot tea. Sadly, (due to the corona virus)the HOT breakfast on the second day was not available, so breakfast consisted of juice,milk and coffee. Also available were pastries and cereal. The staff was very apologetic regarding the hot breakfast cancellation but it was not their fault so I thought that was above and beyond. They did the best they could with what they could offer. We will definitely stay there the next time we are in the area visiting family.
