Great Place for a Family Visit

Reviewed 30 november, 2022

I have visited Chapel Hill to see family at the holidays for the past 15 years. I have stayed at The Carolina Inn repeatedly and loved it. The family also loves to come for breakfast, lunch or anytime they are invited. I have very young great grandchildren in the area and they are also welcomed and love to come and see the decorations.

Traditional Excellence

What a great hotel, grand in stature, located in a great part of the campus of UNC. I would stay here again. The staff we so kind and the hotel was very clean. The location to walk to dinners and other places, including the football stadium, was perfect.

Great Hotel/Terrible Food & Beverage

Reviewed 28 november, 2022

The Carolina Inn is a great hotel and is a great place to stay on the UNC Campus but Crossroads Cafe is terrible. Plan on dining elsewhere because the food and service is not up to par with the rest of the hotel.

Location, Location, Charm and Management that Responds

Reviewed 27 november, 2022

Chapel Hill and the surrounding area is loaded with decent hotels. But there’s few that can lay on the charm and convenience of the Carolina Inn. On my last visit I mentioned the inconvenience of not having in room coffee makers. On my visit 3 months later we not only have coffee makers in the rooms and also fine teas, but they also provide a complementary cup at the Provisions Cafe. Other times I mentioned that frequent travelers don’t get the complementary continental breakfasts found at other hotels and my next visit I was comp’ed a breakfast. The staff here goes out of their way to listen and respond. I stay in hotels 30-60 times a year and the staff at the Carolina Inn are the best of all.

Nice historic property.

Everything was as expected. The only negative comment is that in a queen room there is too much large additional furniture. Hard to move around. Nice to have “real” light bulbs that were actually bright.
