Perfect hotel location in the centre of everything

I really liked staying in this hotel, even though some other reviewers did not. True it overlooks the very busy and noisy Plaza de los Coches, but that is the attraction if you enjoy being at the centre of activity.
Everywhere you would wish to visit in the historic old town or Getsemani was nearby.
The room was simple but adequate for a short visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They repaired the television and provided a new room safe within 30 minutes of my arrival. I would definitely go there again. In fact I have already booked to go again, in late September.

We stayed at this hotel for our last four nights in Colombia.
It is in the heart of the walled city. You experience the life of the walled city at night. Yes it is noisy at night....don’t expect it to be quiet when there is so much happening at night.
The hotel is a historic property - how awesome to have a chance to stay here. As explained to us, because it is historic, many things can’t be changed.
Our room (12) had a comfortable bed, air conditioning, Luke warm showers (treat), was very clean. It overlooked the walled city.
The staff were incredible.
Good location and looks over the plaza but that is it

Good location and looks over the plaza but that is it. The rooms are old but do have a view. Upstairs roof bar that was good and great views. The rooms were so worn, main issue with this place. Low end hotel.
Convenient but loud

Stayed here as part of a four group.
Pros: Historic building, great location, great views from some of the rooms, popular rooftop bar. Adequate breakfast.
Cons: We were supposed to be here 3 nights but after the first night nearly everybody complained, including the local tour leader, because of all the street noise that went on until 4 AM, and because several people didn't have hot water. The AC didn't work in the first room we checked into, but worked great in the second one. There was construction going on so breakfast had to be taken in a hot, cramped, and poorly-ventilated hallway. No elevator, which was fine for us, but we had some older folks with us for whom the stairs were a challenge. We left after one night.
We always travel with earplugs, so the noise was only a minor convenience to us, so we would have been OK with staying here.
Great room, great location, but noisy...

We had a wonderful room - quite spacious and nice, with a large bathroom. Our room had a wonderful view of the clock tower (Torre del Reloj). There is a happening bar lounge on the roof - especially good for younger people. The location is great, but this also means there are large, and noisy crowds out until the early hours of the morning, and even closed windows cannot block that out. On the other hand, the noisy air conditioner did overcome those sounds. We were exhausted from a long day, so really this did not bother us, but if you need a quiet atmosphere to sleep well, this is not the place for you.
