2 day break

Reviewed 23 november, 2022

We went to Farnham estate for a relaxing 2 day break and we weren't disappointed. Excellent first impression, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were of an excellent standard. Food was delicious and we enjoyed the outdoor heated pool. We enjoyed it so much we have booked our next trip.

Another Wonderful Stay

Reviewed 22 november, 2022

Yet another wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff couldn’t be more helpful from the moment you arrive until the time you depart. Nothing was too much trouble. Spa and leisure facilities are a must do, particularly if you want away from children, (under 16 not permitted, even with an adult). Breakfast, which consists of a Buffett, caters for everyone. The selection, from cereals, fresh fruit and yogurts, cold meats, salmon, cheeses, various breads will please the most discerning palate. Enjoyed a delicious evening meal in Maxwells Restaurant on the first night. Again the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant. Stayed in a standard king size room with slippers, bathrobes and coffee machine as standard. Ceramic ice buckets are on hand for those wanting to make use of the ice machines located in quiet areas of the hallways. While this room was more than adequate and spotlessly clean, it was strange it was lacking any drawer space. However this did not distract from two amazing and relaxing nights. And last but not least, many thanks to Bridie, the Guest Relations Manager, who, despite her workload, took the time and effort to ensure we had a wonderful time. Looking forward to our next visit already.

Disappointing as have been going for years and booked six nights but too cold to enjoy

Reviewed 20 november, 2022

Excellant breakfast something for everyone but falls down on dinners in restaurant. Over priced and food sub standard. Food was cold and very small portions, potatoes hard. The pool was freezing and water jets not working outside which was a huge disappointment as pool best feature and spa area was too cold to lie on beds and relax.

40th birthday celebrations

Reviewed 18 november, 2022

My friend and I both celebrated our 40th birthdays this year and decided to treat ourselves to a wee night away instead of pressies. On arrival, the company bus collected us from the carpark and the fabulous George gave us such a warm welcome....asking us our names and singing happy birthday. He shared his knowledge about the history of Lord and Lady Farnham and their fabulous dwelling. He was so informative and enthusiastic about his stories...showing a real passion for his job. Our modern room and spa facilities were lovely and, although a lot of maintenance/building work was going on in the vicinity of both, we had a relaxing time using the facilities and a great sleep in a very comfortable bed. Slightly disappointed when we went for dinner in the bar and they had ran out of many drinks/garnish items (Tia maria, kahlua, mint leaves and grand marnier) needed to make our favourite cocktails. However, our lovely waitress gave us ideas of other similar drinks they could make us instead. After a fabulous night in the cellar, exploring the underground area of the hotel, we sat in the reception area with a nightcap. The night staff supervisor Marianne enjoyed sharing her knowledge of the local area, the beautiful original stately home and the history about the Farnham family. A real treat was when she gave us a private tour of the fabulous old building, pointing out some of the unique and original features. We were so enthralled listening to her stories and enjoying her craic...a perfect end to a wonderful day. Thank you Marianne😘 After a delicious breakfast we enjoyed a 5mile walk around the many acres of Farnham estate. Beautiful scenery and easy walk for all abilities Looking forward to planning a return trip to this great venue

We throughly enjoyed out stay here & would highly recommend this hotel …. The staff were great very friendly.. We had our meal in The Maxwell Grill restaurant and the food was fabulous….. Music in the cellar was a brill way to finish off the night 🎶🎶. And the rooms were perfect very very comfortable bed & all very tastefully decoration. We will be back 👍🏻👍🏻
