Great Inn - Outstanding Breakfast

Location is amazing - right in the heart of UVA. Rooms very comfortable and well equipped. Parking is at Courtyard, no additional charge with in/out rights. Wish there had been a gathering room.
Restaurant associated with this B&B is awesome, Brunch is included and well worth it.
Much Better Than Its TripAdvisor Ranking

Our 3 night stay at the Dinsmore was an early anniversary trip before I leave for overseas work. The accommodations were excellent, the food terrific, and the innkeeper Veda ensured that our stay was absolutely top notch from beginning to end.
Veda’s communication with us prior to arrival was clear and considerate (she let us know a storm was coming through). She also spent time sharing personal stories with us, gave provided us with drinks and desserts during a midday stop at the house after a long day of hiking, and she also offered to wash my clothes that had gotten stained by an accident during breakfast! Truly a wonderful host and manager.
Our room (the library loft) was really cozy and fun. The ability to block out all the light via some custom made blinds made sleeping in really easy. The mattress was a little sunken in on one side, but was otherwise comfortable. It’s definitely a restored colonial era property, with all the charm that comes along with it. The staff even made our bed each morning during breakfast!
We didn’t understand that our meals would be served through the onsite restaurant, Farm Bell Kitchen. But the food was delicious, we could order whatever we liked (and as much, we’re big eaters!), and the waitstaff were kind.
My wife and I have stayed at quite a few B&Bs, and the Dismore ranks among the best of them. It’s the personal touches and relationships that distinguish great B&Bs from the run of the mill hotels, and the Dismore has them in spades. Do not hesitate to stay here! And tell Veda that Rob and Becky send their regards :)
Really good, but they wont tell you.....

Our stay was really good! The staff was really courteous and friendly, they made our stay feel like we were at home! Breakfast was great, and the rooms were also great! My wife had a headache the the morning after we stayed (only stayed one night) and they were accommodating to her.
We also had a late check in because we got married that night, and they were great with helping us with that as well!
The ONLY bad thing I will say about this place is, I wanted to have flowers, and chocolate covered strawberries in the room (which they did) but they never told me a price on those items. After my stay my card got charged $107 for both of them. I know I asked for those things, but I somewhat thought they would let me know if it would be an upcharge.
Great stay overall!
An Incredible B and B in Charlottesville

My wife and I recently had an incredible experience staying for 3 nights at the Dinsmore Inn, an amazing B and B right next door to the University of Virginia. It was an incredibly simple room with an en-suite bathroom. There wasn’t much in the way of amenities, there was no mini-fridge or that manner of thing. However, it was beautifully decorated, with comfortable furnishings, and was a perfect place to rest before wandering the area’s vineyards or walking this incredibly walkable city. In addition to the incredibly comfortable room, our stay included breakfast every morning at the Dinsmore’s in house restaurant - the Farm Bell Kitchen. An amazing brunch spot, this was an tasty beginning to each day. On top of it all, I have never been to an place that provided this level of attentiveness. The owner, Veda, was there when ever we needed anything and was always trying to make our visit the best possible. I can’t wait to come back again.
Really Wonderful Stay

We enjoyed our stay in room 9 at the inn which was spacious and clean with upscale amenities. The owner Vita was pleasant and helpful with an easy checkin and complimentary parking at the adjacent garage. We were totally impressed by the amazing breakfast/brunch at the Farmbelle kitchen which is part of the inn. All you want to order from an extensive menu is included with the overnight stay. We ordered banana beniets, fried green tomatoes, chicken and waffles, andouille sausage, bacon, fresh fruit and cappuccinos. All I can say is yum! It seemed that most items were locally sourced. I would gain 20 lbs if we stayed another night! Will come back next time we go to Charlottesville.
