Great value for a highway motel

Reviewed 4 february, 2016

For the modest price of $19AUD per night, Palm Village is great value. Considering its location, don't be expecting anything fancier than a regular highway motel. Despite this, the rooms are well air conditioned, clean and respectful. The coffee and food was delicious, as was the service and hospitality led by Jack and his team.

Pleasant Surprise

Reviewed 21 january, 2016

My nephew was getting married to his Thai girlfriend and the wedding was to be held in her village, which is in Chatturat . The only accommodation within 25 mins of her village is The Palm Village, I tried to search for reviews and the only ones I could find where in Thai, but the score was 7.5, so we proceeded with the booking for 3 nights and hoped for the best. The Palm Village is approximately 4.5 hours by road NNE of Bangkok on Hwy 201. The accommodation has been rated at 2.5 star. I found it to be cheap and cheerful, very clean and extremely good value at $19 Aud a night. Given that the only place to get food within 5 km is the attached restaurant /coffee shop. It was a pleasant surprise to eat there. The coffee was great and the meals as good as I have tried in Thailand. This is a highway motel and yes there is some road noise but it tends to quiet down as it get later. This property is well worth a stop on Hwy 201,either for a night or coffee break to relax the nerves from the trip up from Bangkok.
