Rushing us out the hotel

Reviewed 1 november, 2022

Would not recommend, breakfast was lovely but ruined by rude staff. Checkout was at 11 and we eventually left at 11:30, but staff was rushing us to get out knocking the door saying ‘hurry up you have 5minutes to get out we are fully booked’. Leading to excessive panic and stress my partner could not have the chance to get changed so had to wear a coat over her pyjama top in thorp park and got a cold as they did not let her have the time to dry her hair after a shower. Would not recommend, very disrespectful and disappointed.

Good but needs attention

We stayed at this hotel as part of the Thorpe park short break. Room - we stayed in room 27, room looked ok but needs a clean. Cobwebs in all the corners of the ceiling. Hair balls on the floor didn’t look like it had been hoovered. Was left only half a toilet roll so had to request more. Bathroom had mould in it and needs a lick of paint. Bed was comfortable and big. Linen and towels good quality Breakfast - this was included in our package. Full English was £12.50 you get one sausage, one bacon, one hash brown, an egg, mushrooms, black pudding, a tomato and beans. If you request no items you don’t get any extras of anything else. Main hotel - hallway carpets have rips. Again needs a clean noticed on our first day a lump of mud. On the day of leaving it was still there Car park is gated and even though the hotel is part of the pub you cannot get to the hotel part without key card Good location for Thorpe Park just needs more attention

Fantastic Hotel!

Reviewed 26 october, 2022

Having driven up from Cornwall and then spent the whole day (and fright night) at Thorp Park, we were unsure what to expect when we arrived at the Crown Hotel booked via the Thorp Park website. We usually stay at the Shark Hotel onsite but thankfully that was full otherwise we never would have found this hidden gem only 1.5 miles away. David, the Duty Manager had ensured the hotel kitchen remained open. It closes at 9.30 and we arrived at 9.15. That could have been a disaster with Daddy day care and 4 hangry kids in tow. Our order was taken quickly and without fuss and the variety of main menu, bar snacks and kids meals was exceptional. Rooms were well equipped, extremely comfy and just what was needed after a long day of thrill seeking. Breakfast was as good as the previous meal. Well done chef! And it set us up for another day of rides and queues. Thanks David and your team. We will be back!

Excellent stay

Reviewed 17 october, 2022

Myself and 2 sons booked in for 2 nights, 2 rooms, can’t believe some of the reviews I’m reading, they must have stayed at a different place! From the moment we arrived customer service was excellent, have to mention and I hope I’ve got her name right, Amy, was so professional and welcoming, she’s an asset, nothing was a problem. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. We were staying in Chertsey for 4 nights but unfortunately for us we could only stay for 2 nights as they were fully booked so our last 2 nights were spent at the Travel Lodge which was on a par with the price we paid at the Crown and that’s where the similarity ends! At the Crown you can enjoy free Wi-Fi, Travel Lodge give you half an hour free Wi-Fi then you need to pay for it. Rooms were much smaller and not as comfortable. When we checked out of the Crown we had a few hours before we could check into Travel Lodge so asked at reception if there was any way they could keep our luggage for us and unsurprisingly this wasn’t a problem, we were allowed to put our luggage behind reception to collect later. We checked into Travel Lodge and all wished we were back at the Crown, we’ll be back again next year and hopefully will get to spend our entire stay at the Crown.

Nice hotel

Reviewed 17 october, 2022

The hotel is very nice. Have not given 5 stars for a few things. The cooked breakfast was really over cooked. I had the avocado on toast & it was delicious. The evening meal & Saturday lunch were really tasty. The staff were attentive but I think they require some professional training- just little things but they did reduce our experience.
