The Inn at the Canal
Opinión escrita el 28 de Junio de 2021
Extremely disappointed. Upon arrival, received our keys at the lockbox and went to our room. Never greeted by anyone and never saw any “inn” employees our entire stay. Had a major issues with the room. Peeling tub that was covered with black mold, tub faucets that were mismatched and broken, broken sink faucet, and lightbulb out in the bathroom. When we reported (via text), they did come “clean” the tub but at this point we felt that the entire place was “dirty” and couldn’t wait to checkout. We were told they were going to resurface the tub and make repairs in the “off season”. Considering we paid their in season rate, with no discount given, we would not stay here in the future. After speaking to another guest, they felt their room was not much better. Very impersonal experience for staying at a bed and breakfast. Would not recommend staying at this location.

From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I met Ed and Sarah, who greeting me with the comfortably I would expect to find when walking into a friend's house. The bar drinks were refreshing, the live music Friday evening was entertaining, and the building itself is charming and historic. I plan on returning to The Inn at the Canal and using it as a home-base to explore Chesapeake City and the region.

We spent last weekend at this lovely inn in Chesapeake City. A perfectly classic place with a great location to experience this little canal town. Loved our room at the top of the stairs with a view of the canal. Totally enjoyed our super high bed and old fashioned bath/shower. So convenient to all the great eating places and shops. Enjoyed ending both evenings in the backyard for music and rum drinks. Ed is an attentive innkeeper and makes sure that everything is in order for your stay.

Such a relaxing, friendly 'Inn at the Canal' by the water. . . . . Ed is a great owner who cares about his guests and wants to ensure a 'great time by all.' Chesapeake City is a hidden treasure with cute shops with unique merchandise. Great restaurants and music! We'll be back!
Great view. Cozy spot.

Out B&B experience was delightful! The backyard-styled bar made a great cosmo, and we were happy with the subdued energy of the establishment. No pressure to participate in their outdoor movie night, but a friendly invitation all the same.
The room itself, though small, was perfect for us, and the feather bed was more than comfortable. The bathtub offered a comfortable soak,, and the homemade cookies were a nice perk!! Best of all, we fell asleep to the sight of the moon right outside our window! Very romantic.
In the morning, we were able to use our vouchers for the coffee shop across the street (the "breakfast" part of the b&B arrangement), and the vouchers were more than enough to get a strong cup of coffee with a delicious breakfast wrap! (Great crispy bacon.)
Ownership was lovely when they greeted us, and we are already planning a two-night stay in the best room they have to offer.
Trust that you will not be disappointed with your stay.
