More about the hotel
Not easy to sleep
A lot of noises, a lot of light coming from the hall (no courtains). The first night we were waked up at 4, then at 6 and then at 7 because of the really loud noises. The second night at 5:30 there was loud music. I went out of the room to check: was the receptionist, looking videos on the computer. I asked if it was normal, she stopped. I won’t be back there.
Not more than one night
The bed was hard and the room was indeed the most basic I have ever seen. There was barely enough room to walk. The toilet did not have a lid or even a seat and the shower was cold. Moreover, there were cables hanging from the walls everywhere. For one night it is perfectly fine but not for more than that.
Reminds me of "back in the day" Mexican budget hotels
I believe there is a lot of variance in the rooms. The room we had was quite small and totally concrete. We paid for a TV- and AC-room. The TV, AC, and Wifi all worked well. The bed was fine and the room was clean. We did have a lot of street noise...all night long. But, then again, we were the ones who accepted a room at the front of the building. Don't do that.
Stay away
We ordered a 3 bed room but the room was not even big enough for a single bed room. The fan was a joke and the bathroom is small, not very clean and there is no toilet seat. It ia just uncomfortable. Even for that price it is not enough!!
Convenient & Clean
I fell sick while traveling between Mahahual and Chetumal, I needed a place to rest though I hated the idea of spending a couple of days in Chetumal. In the end, it worked out well. We took ADO from Mahahual to Chetumal and the bus terminal was super close to the hotel. The hotel was super close to the Museum. There was a pharmacy next to the hotel... all very convenient. The staff was friendly and there was a guy working there who was super helpful. He helped us find Marlin Espadas, so we coordinated our bus to Flores through him.. He really went out of his way to help us. When the agency was closed he called, and made the arrangements for us early in the morning. Thank you!! Otherwise, AC worked the room was clean, it was your basic private room. Unfortunately, the wifi didn't really work from our room, but there was a common area over the reception desk and you could sit on the couches there to surf.
