Won’t be back shocked that Hilton put its name to this hotel

This hotel is so dated. The decor is so sad, the furniture in the bedroom is so old it falling to bits our room also had a very dangerous table lamp on the table the bedroom carpet had stains
Other part of the hotel was just as bad The bar has loads of bar flys flying about and splattered behind the bar, the restaurant is dower like the food
Plus side if you do stay here, the staff are very friendly and try hard to put things right two members of staff the young man that works the restaurant is good also the young lady behind the bar
I had a very poor excuse from front of house about the state of the hotel.
Won’t stay again and would recommend people not to
Did not feel safe

I have travelled throughout the coronavirus pandemic and have felt entirely comfortable everywhere I have stayed. I stayed at the Double Tree at Chilworth recently and felt uncomfortable throughout.
There was no indication that rooms or items in rooms such as the TV remote had been cleaned; none of the staff wore masks at any point, nor were masks encouraged for guests; and the restaurant tables at breakfast were too close together to ensure physical distancing from other guests. Very disappointing, I will not return.
I have never written a review before but wanted others to be aware.
Doubletree Hotel Southampton

Unfortunately I stayed at Doubletree Hotel Southampton after a fantastic cruise.
As has been mentioned in other reviews it was nigh impossible to find a member of staff to request a drink at the bar before lunch.
At lunchtime I went down to the restaurant to be told that they were closed until 17:00. I then asked if I could have a bite at the bar to be told no as well.
As I was having a Gunness this massive party came up and had LUNCH. MMMPH!
I was looked after by the lovely Chelsea. Message to management, look after her she is good. If it were not for her this would definitely be a 1 star review.
In the evening I had dinner and the food was delicious.
There was no bottled water provided which I should have received because of my Hilton Honors tier. There was also no Doubletree cookie offered.
Will I be staying at this Hotel again? The answer would definitely be a big no thank you.

On arrival there was no one at reception, for a good 5mins,thereafter each time we either phoned or we went down,it was exactly the same!! . We were satisfied with the room, beds were very comfortable Pillows great and room clean. Unfortunately no housekeeping on 2nd day and we were not informed.we were told it was £5 for parking but we were charged £10 a day.
We asked for a restaurant emu and we’re told it didn’t come out until 4pm but it was more like 5.30. We booked a table for 3.When we looked at the menu,it wasn’t the same. The choice was dreadful. Pizza, fish cakes, curry or Caesar salad which my friend chose with chicken and it came without any chicken.I asked for toast to eat the (awful) pate and I was brought 3 tiny croutons.
The service and food was absolutely dreadful. The poor staff didn’t seem to know what was going on!! I don’t think it was entirely their fault.
Sadly I really couldn’t recommend it to anyone.

From the minute I walked in your hotel, met by the 2 wonderful staff on reception in the evening it was simply my best Hilton experience and I spend one night a week in Hilton.
The room was upgraded due to my Hilton status and this could not be faulted exceptionally clean , comfy beds and perfect for use.
The bar staff was attentive but not overpowering and smiled constantly and was just right for our experience.
We booked breakfast and this was Freshly topped up, lovely staff great experience.
Please go to Hilton Bournemouth and teach them the Hilton way, which they are simply lacking. We will be back as this was our best hotel experience. Thank you
