Unfortunately if you are looking for a clean pleasant stay then this is not the place for you! Our room was dirty and dated (see photos below). Parts of the hotel were ok on the surface but this was let down by our overall experience. The swimming pool closed early at 6pm on the day of our stay and opened late at 9am on our departure day. There were noises from pipes in the room throughout the night. Communication was poor prior to our visit but fortunately the duty manager was able to resolve our issue while we were there when checking out. Tables in the bar and restaurant weren’t cleared of plates and glasses and the hotel seemed understaffed. The staff seemed like they were trying their best but they were young and in need of training. We would not visit this hotel again due to it being one of the filthiest places I have stayed.

The spa treatment was the only good part of the stay. On arrival it took 20 minutes to get a cup of tea and then when we ordered our lunch it did not arrive as specified in the menu. Whilst the staff were friendly they were inexperienced and couldn’t help as they argued we were wrong so we sent the menu to the kitchen. Dinner was a disaster our order was taken and 45 minutes later we asked the duty manager where it was rather than agree to go look he was more interested in working what had gone wrong. Our original order was 7.45 we had our starters at 8.45pm. Starters then came and we had to wait ages before our mains. We ask another waitress where our dinner was she went off and didn’t update us. In all honesty the staff didn’t care less. When the food came it was lovely. Same at breakfast waited ages to be seated so seated ourselves a restaurant full of dirty tables and a very lacking buffet. After many visits this will be our last visit! Even after speaking to front desk no one really apologised or cared! It was uncomfortable hearing so many unhappy guests . Shame

Having stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years, we were very disappointed with this trip. Severe lack of staff and no organization. For breakfast, there was no alternative milk, they’d run out of orange juice and we were totally ignored. No cereal spoons. No teaspoons. They have a proper coffee machine but the manager said we could only have the filter coffee which was disgusting. Full English breakfast reasonable but rather greasy. So all in all a very mediocre performance. This hotel has gone downhill since our last trip. The manager could not be bothered - and made this quite apparent. This is a shame.

Comfortable bed, no hot water and poor food

Stayed at this hotel pre covid and standards have definitely slipped since then. The bed was clean and comfortable and I slept well. The food was not great, greasy bacon and eggs, no fruit, anaemic looking pastries. Constantly running out of food and self service area chaotically due to large number of people on the yoga retreat trying to get food but faced with empty dishes. Hot water for showers had run out by 5pm and still not available next morning! Dinner was worse, sat down Saturday evening at 8pm and ordered food. The restaurant and bar was staffed by A level students who were inexperienced and mixed up the orders. In fact most of the hotel is staffed by 18 and unders!! Food arrived at 10.20pm by which time we were starving. People on the table behind us gave up waiting and went for a pizza at Dominos (shopping centre next door). The F&B manager came out and explained the chef had closed the kitchen and walked out earlier (not for the first time according to other reviews). We had all opted for ice cream as dessert, as they had run out of most of the other things. This arrived after 11pm, by which time no one was hungry and some of our party had gone to bed!! Rooms are OK, nothing special and some nicer than others. Don’t bother booking dinner in the hotel.

A Spa break was booked for myself and 2 daughters as a gift from my husband. Spa treatments were fine . We had booked a table in the restaurant looking forward to a lovely meal . On returning from Spa treatment we were informed that the restaurant was closed and meals were to be served in bar area which only had 3 tables suitable for dining. Service was very slow , food of poor quality and barely lukewarm. After waiting an age for it to be returned it was no better. It did not fill us with confidence to hear the Chef using bad language whilst shouting’kitchen was closed’ walking down the corridor. Several complaints to reception were met with reassurance that following meeting Monday 24 th I would be contacted. Needless to say I have not been contacted or any reply to email sent to the Customer services .
