A gem in Tuscany
Palazzo San Lorenzo is a wonderful haven in Colle di Val d' Elsa. The restaurant is exceptional but a reservation is vital as they seem to have many big groups coming through. Cane who checked us in, was fantastic answering all our queries and providing all the necessary info to get around the town. There are a few bays outside the hotel for parking but if those are taken there’s free parking 100m from the hotel which is open 24 hours. We parked there two nights when there was no parking outside the hotel and the rental car was fine. We didn’t get the opportunity to use the Spa and Wellness centre located in this hotel during this trip. Be aware that if you don’t have a spa access room you need to pay for each entry. The bathrooms are equipped with jetted tubs which made for a glorious bath. The hotel has many beautiful sculptures, paintings and crystal vases displayed in public areas. The breakfast is served in a sunroom with a glass ceiling which makes for a magnificent start in the morning. This is a great base for visiting Siena and San Gimignano. The glass lift connecting the old and new towns of Colle di l Val d'Elsa is simply amazing. Would definitely stay here again if we are in that part of the world again.
Beautiful hotel, beautiful town
Stayed here with friends at the end of the first day of a walking holiday. We were hot and tired on arrival so the friendly greeting and visit to the spa were most welcome. The rooms were lovely and the location perfect. The spa was great. Everything you could want. Some great restaurants nearby too. Only disappointment was the bar shut at 10 pm. Perhaps the hand of god saving us from ourselves, but a wee nightcap would’ve been nice. Breakfast great too.
Defintely going back to this Hotel
I travelled to Colle di Val d'Elsa with two other friends in July 2019 and stayed for three nights. The hotel was very professional with everything to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are magnificent and spacious with breathtaking views, the breakfast delicious and dinners we ate out and tried numerous different restaurants which were all good. The Spa in the hotel was also a plus to relax after a day filled with lots of walking. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the location of this hotel is 5 star. What a fantastic experience. This quaint village on a hilltop is so adorable. A walk from the old side to the new side of the village is a must. The restaurants are fantastic, especially "Bocca Garage", the food is delicious and the service exceptional and very friendly. We took a day trip to Sienna and the Chianti wine region which was very close by and fell in love with Tuscany. We look forward to visiting again.
