The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower head was too low and close to the wall to accommodate my 6’ 2” height. None of the lobby/ lounge furniture was comfortable. Breakfast options were limited.l
Cancelled Football Weekend
Terrible experience: don't stay here! On the last home game of the college football season, this hotel cancelled our 10 month confirmation the day before the game without contacting us! As we stand in shock in the hotel lobby, we quickly learn there are no rooms available at this hotel, or any other within 50 miles. What was suppose to be a relaxing getaway with our children, turned into a disappointing and exhausting drive home on a foggy night cut short of visiting with our college children. The GM is either completely incompetent or sells your room out from underneath you with no warning!
Nice stay - appreciate the ride!
I was on the first floor in room 110. The room was fine, very consistent with other Alofts. IN recognition of my Titanium status, I was given $8 dollars to spend on breakfast. There are like 5 options, and they are all 8 dollars. I got the Ranchero, and it was very good. I also appreciate the bottle of water in the room. There is no EV charger for my Tesla, but the Homewood Suites very close by has one, so I parked there and walked over. In the morning, the woman that made my breakfast and also works the bar - she drove me to get my car - very helpful. The location is great - not far from campus and lots or restaurants nearby. The lobby is nice with jenga and board games. If you like separate shampoo and conditioner, bring your own They have the eco-friendly all in one large container in the shower. Great stay!
The hotel is cleaned & well maintained. The staff was friendly and efficient. The price was reasonable. They have adequate parking. While the hotel doesn’t have a large selection of food, The area has many eating places nearby with a very good selection of food, including a Red Lobster in front.
This A loft get a C-
I am not a travel snob, and I am not a travel troll. I really try to post positive feedback. But this Aloft was a bad experience. I am a Diamond Member at Hilton and took the Marriott Challenge to get Platinum or whatever in 90 days. Two problems with this property. 1) It is poooooorly built. The walls are incredibly thin. It was easy to hear the other person on the phone and their Tv. Thank goodness they did not have a member of the opposite sex with them or it would have been really challenging to sleep. We have all driven by construction sites for the latest "hotel" and seen nothing by wood frames. A few years after the place opens, doors dont close easy, you can feel people walking down the hall and its just flimsy. That is this hotel 2) The water. Apparently they use a water softening agent but when you shower it leaves a film on people like me. Much like my gym at home and I cant stand it. I realize Texas has some geology issues, but with the Brazos river close by I cant thinkt hey use well water. In any case, the building engineer needs to look into this.
