Nothing is perfect, of course (two nits to come), but this is a really fine and welcoming place to stay . . . for several days if you prefer.
Really fine, well-trained, friendly, helpful (apparently) happy staffers, and something rare: a GM who joins the troops, serving several of the evening "socials. More about those "gatherings" later (nothing is a true gathering yet because of covid), but there's SOME seating in this state that has loosened many of its previous restrictions.
Our room (to which, I should admit, we were upgraded because we're Spire members, were staying awhile, and the space was available, is spacious, comfy, has at least B-class silverware and dishes (many places go the 5-and-10-cent-store el cheapo route), and has a big, working fridge, large kitchen, and appliances that all work. That should all be standard, but such a full combo is unusual in travel these days.
There are plenty of two things that are rarely plentiful: luggage carts (where the tires are actually firmly inflated), and handicapped parking spaces if that's important to you. A whole row of them, right outside the door.
The hotel is ideally located for most purposes, except, perhaps, close access to the University of Missouri, which is across town. But it's in a notch between Route 63 (which is a freeway for all intents and purposes) and I-10.
The hotel accommodates families beautifully and with attention and even affection.
Breakfasts are sumptuous. This morning, for example — your choice of (any and all of) biscuits, perfectly broiled sausage patties, scrambled eggs with or without cheese, one's choice of giant, fresh muffins, fresh oranges, a zillion kinds of juice, 2% or chocolate milk, waffles, even! and of course cereal. All prepared and presented by a cheerful and efficient attendant.
Staybridge is slowly getting back into evening 'socials," but many are a joke. The last one, for instance, consisted of a styrofoam container of somewhat stale crackers and little cubes of questionable processed cheese. No wine, no beer — just water or a soda. What's sociable about that.
This one (last night, for instance), prepared yummy pulled-chicken sandwiches, good red and white wine, two kinds of beer, and other things I'm forgetting — not because I over-imbibed but because that was yesterday, and I am a "senior."
If you're staying a week or more, DO take advantage of the once-a-week full room cleaning. Two hard workers spiffed up our room so much that it was far better than when we checked in.
The two not-perfect things:
Be sure to bring your own blanket(s), because if you ask for an extra one you get the Staybridge special: flophouse-quality things that feel like they're 60% rubber. They work to keep your feet warm, but I wouldn't pull one up near your face. That should be the next upgrade here.
The second (and perhaps rare or one-time-only) issue was a spate of construction within rooms — loud, prolonged, intrusive and (today) early — starting before 9. If you love old-time dentists — the ones with the fat, slow, dull drills — you'll love this experience. I have some sympathy for the hotel because it's been sold out on some days, and they can't take a room out into the parking lot to work on it. But attention all hotel chain managers: if possible (and it's not always), if a room needs prolonged work, try not to book the adjoining ones until the job is done.
Fortunately the many plusses outweighed the annoyances, and I would heartily suggest staying here. If you have business, or just interest, in the capital of Jefferson City, that's just a half-hour away, right down 63, so this place works for visits there, too.
All in all, good job, well done.
p.s. attention creators of this review format. You asked TWICE whether this hotel had airport transportation (the answer didn't change the second time), and you asked at least one obscure question (are the linens sanitized?) to which guests are not likely to know the answer. You should think about making these questions more apropos of the typical guest experience.
Best substitute breakfast we've had during the COVID-19 pandemic

During the pandemic, we've stayed in a few other places before and after we stayed here. The substitute breakfast here included hot food, with vegetarian-friendly options. There were sufficient choices to assure an adequate meal. That hasn't always been our experience elsewhere during our limited pandemic travels.
