Hotel limpio, amplio e impecable.
Great place to stay in Cumberland

During our five day cycling trip from Pittsburgh to DC we really enjoyed our stay at Fairfield Inn. They were great to cyclists. The breakfast was good and they provided house made granola in bags for the day. It's right off the trail and close to restaurants. Would definitely stay there again. It would be great if they added another washing machine and dryer since it was busy with the cyclists all washing clothes.
Great experience. Thank you Mandy Mangum for helping with our reservations!

I made a mistake when booking 2 rooms. I booked the rooms to check out Saturday instead of Sunday. We were there for an event and the hotel was booked. Mandy Mangum, the Operations Manager was able to find the rooms we needed. I truly appreciated the effort!

Perfect location for walking downtown & historic sites.
Fresh, clean property.
Well-maintained, well-designed facilities.
Everyone was nice, knowledgeable, and helpful, including friendly front desk staff & staff who got pool ready for swimming with our toddler during pandemic. Thank you Sierra and company!
Canal-side view of city and mountains on third floor was very good.
Great for Cyclists

My overall impression was that this was a slightly-better-than-average Fairfield. Its #1 perk is its close proximity to the C&O Canal trail--it's right on the trail. It has one of those complimentary bike wash/minor repair stations right out the side door and you're also walkable to an actual bike repair shop should that be required. There's also a microbrewery just across the parking lot and a lot of other restaurants within easy walking distance. Highly recommend this as a spot to stay for a biking trip.
The room itself was pretty tight and nothing to write home about, but the indoor pool was one of the better ones we have seen at a hotel of this caliber. It has a (tiny) "waterfall" that my kids were excited about, the pool water was a nice temperature, and there was a hot tub. Their Covid-19 pool policy was good (only one guest/family at a time) and was actually being enforced properly, which I appreciate as I haven't always seen good enforcement of social distancing at hotel pools during the pandemic. It seems like most hotels either have their pools closed entirely or have given up on trying to enforce reservations. I was glad to see that Fairfield has the pool situation well under control and felt safe letting my family use the pool area.
In general they seem to be doing a good job with their Covid-19 policies and enforcement. The current breakfast set-up isn't ideal as you now have to stand in line to order what you want and then an employee gathers up your breakfast items and gives them to you. It can make for a long wait if you hit the lobby at the wrong time and there are a lot of people in front of you. Although I realize they're trying to do a nice thing and still allow guests some breakfast choice, I prefer when there is simply a bagged breakfast ready to be picked up. True, it's a surprise, but it saves a lot of time and there's always something in the bag my family is willing to eat. Hopefully soon Covid will be a thing of the past and this won't even be an issue!
I had limited interaction with the staff, but they were friendly and helpful. All in all, I think this is a good choice for a stay in Cumberland.
