Buen hotel junto a UC Davis
Get place to stay

My daughter and I were looking at the UC Davis campus. The staff was very helpful. The front desk had campus maps available and knew which restaurants students hang out at. The hotel was very clean. Parking was great.
Not if you can avoid it.

Bed sheets were stained. TV didn't work. Tried to check out after one night, haven't gotten a refund a week later. Way. way overpriced. Has a decent pool and poor gym. Stair hallways smelled very funny, almost made me gag. Staff was fine, though.
Good but not great.

In town for soccer tournament. Staff -- across the board -- were excellent, prompt and helpful. Rooms are getting a little worn around the edges, a little overpriced for the value, but comfortable and typical of most Hyatt Places. Breakfast was okay, but nothing to get excited about. Parking fee was ridiculous. For runners or walkers, the nearby Arboretum Trail is excellent, even in very hot weather.
Missed the Mark

Booked my stay through my credit card rewards program for a 1 bedroom king suite. Had multiple confirmation emails that said suite, king bed and sofa. That matched how the room was described on the hotel website.
Upon arrival, I was told that I only booked a regular room. When showing the staff the email and their own website room descriptions, they didn’t care much and only offered for me to it $100 a night to upgrade. No help offered beyond that.
When I called the credit card company for help, and they called the hotel, the hotel staff was equally dismissive of the situation, unhelpful, and escalated to rude to the booking agent.
It was approaching 100 degrees, and I had my wife and dog waiting, so I agreed to paying the upgrade. My upgrade was a continuation of a nightmare. The couch had some very questionable stains over one side, and the fabric very worn down in others. The bathroom handle was ready to fall off, the kitchen countertop area was chipped and worn down, and a room divider was being held together with painters tape. And god forbid the AC turn on and you need ear plugs to sleep.
Spend the few extra bucks, and at worst try the Hyatt Home in Davis, or avoid Hyatt all together here.
Real bummer if an experience.
