Not up to par of other SpringHill Suites

Reviewed 29 july, 2022

We are Bonvoy members and prefer to stay in SpringHill Suites rather than Fairfield Inns. This particular hotel was not up to the standard of others we have stayed in as far as overall cleanliness and the quality of the breakfast. We were told there was no oatmeal "on the weekends" when we have had it other places, including fresh strawberries and blueberries. Our sheets were wrinkled and I wondered if they had indeed been changed after the previous guest, and the pool water was really cloudy so we didn't go swimming. We would stay elsewhere if we visit the area again.

Rude front desk woman

Reviewed 31 may, 2022

The hotel itself is great. We are on our way out of town on a cross country move and opted to stay here before leaving early in the morning. The woman at the front desk Moe is absolutely rude and needs a lot more training or fired. When we arrived we were not greeted at all. She finally said “ name” and we have her the name on our reservation to which she “couldn’t find”. We then give her the confirmation number and she types in it and pulls us up. She then handed us a key without saying a word the entire time- didn’t even tell us our room number. Once we arrived to our room the linen for the pull out bed we requested was not in the room. I called to the front desk and she rudely said I will have them try to find some and hung up on me. I called back and said hi did you mean to hang up- she replied yes. She said she would get them and to come to the desk. I go down to the front desk where she was checking in another man. She then goes and grabs my thins and says we only have 2 pillows ( I had asked for 4) I said that’s all you have in house and she said yesssss. The other man I encountered at the front desk was absolutely wonderful and kind. Our room seems to be clean. The pool is very small and had no towels.

Rude Manager

Reviewed 12 april, 2022

I travel frequently for business, staying overnight one night, sometimes 2 or 3. My company has a list of hotels for each city in which we can stay. I try different ones each time I go somewhere. This time I stayed at the Springhill Suites in Dayton, Oh. I stayed here once before with no issues. But this time was different. I am a coffee drinker. I like coffee as soon as wake up and I drink several cups just to wake up, then another cup or two while I'm getting ready for the day. Upon check in, I asked for a few extra coffees for morning. Clearly the young lady was new. She couldn't find the coffee and made several unanswered calls to management. I finally said I was going to get dinner and would check with her when I came back. She had it for me upon my return. Tonight when I came in from dinner, I asked the girl on duty for some extra coffee, and she didn't even look. "We don't have any. There is coffee over there in the lobby." I carefully explained to her that I wanted it for morning and she repeated "we don't have any". I expressed disbelief at this, as she hadn't even looked. She threw whatever she was holding onto the desk and stormed off behind the wall. She came back with 2 coffees and said "that's it. 2 coffees per room". On my way to the elevator I asked if there was a phone number for the manager and she rudely stated she was the manager and that was all the coffee I was going to get. I am not going to the lobby in my PJs at 5 AM to get coffee when there is a perfectly good coffee maker in the room. I am 63 years old and have never been told I couldn't get more coffee for my room, even in the cheapest of hotels. And now, it's not even about the coffee, but about the rude behavior of the "manager". Needless to say, I will stay at one of the competitors my company pays for in the future. I don't ask for a lot when I have to stay in a hotel..a comfortable bed, a clean shower, and some coffee. Is that too much to ask for?

Comfortable and Clean Hotel

Reviewed 14 january, 2022

We stayed here during Thanksgiving as we were visiting family in the area. This was my second time here, however my last visit was in 2019. This hotel is close to the highway and sits on a strip of restaurants and stores. The hotel itself is very clean. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. Also it is very secure as the doors are locked at night. I give it three stars only because it is definitely different from the first time I stayed. The first room we were given, the toilet was running nonstop and did not flush. The hotel staff switched us rooms immediately. The second room had a few issues as well, such as the bathroom door wouldn’t stay closed, the night light was ripped out of the second bed and the coffee maker didn’t work. This is a nice hotel but I don’t think it is being maintained well. However, I do recommend this place if you are looking for a comfortable place to sleep. The rooms were very clean just not being maintained properly. I did not eat the breakfast because Cracker Barrel was right down the street.

Strong marijuana smell in the building

Reviewed 19 december, 2021

This was the second time I've stayed here. Both times, there was a stong smell of marijuana in the main level and hallways. I agree with other reviews, the rooms are not at what I feel is the Mariott standard. The bathroom needs a lot of attention.
