Days Inn was an excellent choice for the budget minded. It's an older hotel and could use an upgrade, but if you need a place to sleep, shower, and sip, this is the place. It's a straight forward hotel room.
The fitness room was adequate. A couple of machines and a rack of medicine balls.
Breakfast was limited to a pastry bar and fruit. It was prepackaged doughnuts, cakes, and snack bars. Wasn't what I expected, but I still tore into a honeybun with my coffee.
The staff were very friendly. Smiles and good conversation. They are the reason I am writing this review. Joel the front desk supervisor was very friendly, and Dee the associate was very helpful. It's good after 10 hours in a truck, in an unfamiliar town, to be able to interact with locals. They really made me feel like home away from home.

This is the worst hotel/motel that I have ever stayed in. The room smelled as though the non-smoking room sign on the room's door was placed on it the day before. It smelled horrible of cigarette smoke. There were cigarette burn marks on the carpet...at least a dozen. The chair in the room had a cushion on that didn't match the chair and had stains all over it. One can only guess what the stains were. But we didn't consider sitting on it. Also there was no microwave or refrigerator in the room as the reservation stated. Had to go to the desk and complain. And asked for another room. Was told there was no room available and that they would bring a microwave and refrigerator to the room which they did. However...the smell and stains were totally disgusting. You can't just add a sign on the door, non-smoking, and expect the smell to miraculously dissappear. But that's what they did. Had to cover our noses to sleep. Even that didn't work. Maybe we slept an hour or two.
NEVER AGAIN will I stay at a Days Inn.
Totally dissatisfied, MW
Returning for a weekend stay

In town to drop our son off at school. Mediocre hotel. The economical stay in the area. They have a heated pool and hot tub available to guest, but no public laundry room. we had to hang our wet clothes in the bathtub.
With that out of the way, I'd like to mention the overnight front desk gentleman, Ralph. He was so friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the local area. He recommended a coal mine tour and museum that was very cute, and occupied the better part of our day.
The hotel has it's flaws, but the service is excellent. We will be returning for a weekend next time we visit.

I booked 2 rooms at this hotel on an emergency basis in order to avoid traveling into the path of hurricane Henri, as we were originally planning to stay in Danbury, CT. Unfortunately, the rooms were disgustingly filthy - hair all over bathrooms/ in sinks and tubs, accumulated dirt, etc on bathroom floors, dead bugs on counters, debris on carpet throughout rooms. Accumulated dust and dirton appliances. "Non-smoking" rooms reeked of cigarette smoke and mold. Was told by staff that they could not give me any type of refund because we booked through a 3rd party service. If I could give this place 0 stars or less, I would. I travel quite a bit, and this is one of the worst places I've ever been. Only stayed because there was nowhere else to go. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel.
